Oh, the drama... :scrying: :chair: :chair: :chair: :chair: :sniff: Yes, I mean every one of those smilies. Needless to say, too many women in one room day in and day out for HOURS at a time is not the best idea in the world.

So, for those who are interested, let me give you the Cliffs Notes of yesterdays events.

One lady (we'll call her T) blew up on some members in the class because of talking during lectures. This is not the case in the actuality that she is saying, and it really pissed two of the people off. These people approached her, and she left the class and went to the counselors office. During break a little while later, she returned, and those two ladies were called into the office. They were gone for an hour, and returned during our second break.

After the first break, during attendance, my study partner asked me to see my notes. She couldn't read something I had written, so I clarified. T decides to yell "Um, I am so tired of all the damn talking! I just want you to know that I just left the office and I reported all of you for disruptive behavior! I am just tired of it. " Looking right at me. OK.... :angryfire: I don't talk during lectures. I can't. My learning style is listening and taking notes. If, by any chance I was doing ANYTHING else, I would not be holding steady at my 94 average. But I digress.

At this point, I must excuse myself from class before I act like less than a woman. Second break comes, and I go back into class. T is going person to person asking people to sign a petition stating the "Back Right Corner" is disruptive. This type of thing could get a person expelled! So, the five of us, including the two who confronted her, targeted in this bogus petition (that only 7 out of 42 people signed) decided to visit the counselor together. At this point, the instructor can sense she can teach no further and has the counselor come in to speak with the whole class. Like friggin' elementary school! Took up our last 1.5 hours, and we have a test first thing Monday. Grrr... I wake up this morning, body stiff, head pounding.

IT'S ONLY JULY! We have ten months to go! :uhoh3: :uhoh3: :uhoh3: Too damn early for the drama!

Thanks for listening.

I see T is trying to eat her young before she even graduates. :)

it's too bad for disruption so early on but maybe it will get all ironed out quick enough..like nip it in the bud or something.

your situation sounds a lot like mine was. The girl that sat next next to me and myself are a lot alike. We would be busily taking notes and listening to the lecture and if I missed something or vice versa we would quietly ask each other for verification. But there were a group of people in the back behind us who would constantly chatter away, not pay attention, and ask questions that if they had been paying attention, they would have known the answer. Personally, I find people constantly talking in class to be totally rude and inconsiderate of the others who are serious about getting an education. It is very disruptive. Fortunately with these talkative ones, the instructors seemed to take care of it but after a few days they were back to their old ways.

I totally understand you not being the disruptive one. I think that the other classmate could have handled it a bit better without making such a big scene, perhaps talking to the instructor afterwards and seek help other ways and not taken it upon herself which ended up creating a big scene, etc. etc.

Hopefully this will all settle down for you.

Good grief....Hope it gets better....I'm sure it's gonna be hard enough without all the added drama..........Hang in there!

Wait till that last month of school. I swear some of us had lockjaw from all the snapping going back and forth.

And T needs to study more, and stop looking for ways to stir the ****. A petition? Jeez.

Yikes! T sounds like a troublemaker! I'm sure there were other ways to resolve the problem without going to the counselor or getting a petition up! Hope things go better for you next week! :)

It looks like T is burning her bridges......enough said.

P.S. Kiyasmom, ignore her and keep up that 94 average. :)

:chuckle

Remember people, you can't have that many women in one room and NOT have problems. :chuckle

We had drama every week...with some girls almost fighting.

aw, gabriel, i'm sorry to hear this, but it's a given when you get that many women in a room...the claws will come out. like someone above suggested...ignore this woman! don't give her any fuel to add to her fire. best advice i can give: don't get involved in their hoopla, and don't talk about t to anyone in your class behind her back. it will come back and bite you in the butt one way or another. just keep walking away, and excusing yourself(like you did) when t starts her mess, just pray...the lord will handle her. that is the best thing you can do. maybe she will chill out further into it. she's probably stressed out like everyone.

keep up that a gabs! i'm proud of ya girl! (((hugs))):)

Move to another area of the class room! Talking during a lecture is very disruptive (whether you are an A student or a C student) and if she is not the only one to complain, she could have a valid point for going to someone who can fix the situation. Since classes are only two weeks underway and the trouble is already brewing I suggest you do what ever it takes to put some space between yourself and "T", because as someone else said...just wait til the last few weeks....it is maddening. And since it is your first two weeks, you do not want to get the repetition among the instructors for being a trouble maker

I just can't believe how immature some grown women are acting. Is it the stress of nursing school? I don't know! Yesterday, in my women's studies class, the professor announced that there would be no more gum chewing in class because someone complained to her that someone popped their gum too loudly. Now, this behavior gets on my nerves also, but to tattle on someone to a UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR. Come on people, suck it up and keep your kindergarten tattles to yourself and deal with it. We are going to have to deal with patients that are much more disruptive than gum chewers!
