NCTC ADN Fall 2014

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I just wondering if there are others out there applying this May for the Fall 2014 class. I just found out I have everything to apply at NCTC but with a B in A&P I I only have 10 points and I'm not sure if I will make the cut. Anyone else?

When you say that not everyone is invited to test are you referring to those with less than 9 pts? How about those with 9 or 10 pts? I was thinking that everyone will test regardless of points.

Hello all, I have been reading the posts but this is my first time post. I applied to the fall 2014 transition program, I also called today and they said the point cut off was 7 for transition students. I translate this to them testing everyone that applied because to apply you have to have 9 generic and 7 transition. Not sure but that's a lot if people testing scary! Good luck to all and I am eagerly waiting for my letter.

I just check the website and it says the same thing. Those with 9 points and above for the generic program and 7 points and above for the transition program will be testing, so basically that is everyone that was eligible to apply for their respective program (as I understand it). I thought they only tested 100 people. Oh well, doesn't really matter. What matters now is the Kaplan results. I'm just waiting on my letter to know my test date/time. NOW, I'm really nervous.

Good luck to everyone.

Just landed back from trip. Can't wait to start hitting the books tonight!!! Have been away traveling for weeks and anxiously thinking about the Kaplan. Just hope I can pull it together in time to do well on exam. Checked the school website. Letters were sent out today so we will probably know by the 12th. Best of luck to all!

Received my letter to take exam today. One step closer!

I received mine too. I test Tuesday, June 17 at 1pm.

Specializes in IMCU, Oncology.

I am testing Tuesday at 1pm too.

Awesome! Will look forward to meeting you all!! Have looked on-line for study suggestions. All success proven methods would be greatly appreciated.

How did you like the LVN program and was that NCTC?

Hey guys, sorry that it took me so long to get back to you. Congrats on getting your letters to test!

To answer some questions, there are generally 36 generic and about 12 transition students and that brings the class total up to 48. There are some online transition students as well, but I'm not sure how many there are.

Our cut off for the Kaplan when I applied Fall 2013 was either a 73 or a 74. After everyone has tested and before they send out the acceptance letters, they will post on the ADN website what the cut off score is. You will get your grade immediately after you test so you'll know what you made. They basically take the 36 highest grades (or 12 highest if you're transition) and that is that. You'll know once they put up the cut off if you've made it or not because it is based on your grade which you will already know!

Good luck guys. I will try to be around more often now that you're testing and will soon be opening up acceptance letters!

Thanks jls0459 for the update and info! Really appreciate your help.

Yes I did my LVN at NCTC and I really liked it. I went to the Gainesville campus which I hear is the better option. Don't get me wrong it was tough and they were super strict but I think they more than prepared us!
