NCTC ADN Fall 2014

I just wondering if there are others out there applying this May for the Fall 2014 class. I just found out I have everything to apply at NCTC but with a B in A&P I I only have 10 points and I'm not sure if I will make the cut. Anyone else?

I have read on Allnurses that the average is lower and that 75 and up is really good! We shall see I guess!

I definitely do! Good job I think the cut off last year was like 74. Was it hard?

Math was easy, reading and writing were ok, science was hard! Does anyone know how the critical thinking score ties in???

Just heard from a friend that cut off score for last semester was a 69. I've also seen 73 and 74 in previous years.

Any advice as far as the AP part goes, I know it's mostly physiology but super broad?

I can't believe it, but I made an 86% overall and scored the highest on science. As others have said math is really easy but I missed some toward the end. Science is mostly critical thinking in my opinion, you really need to understand the systems to understand the questions being asked and apply your knowledge.

I can't remember what I scored on reading and writing. I felt like I was close to running out of time on these sections. Honestly, I felt like these would be the hardest for me, because when I practiced using my study guides I would miss half of the questions. However, I felt the reading was easier than the Kaplan study guide and that the writing was a bit easier than the SAT writing workbook I used to study for writing.

I think some of the writing used critical thinking to answer the questions!

Take your time and really focus on the questions, I was the 2nd to last person to leave! :-)

An 86 is amazing! Congrats I'm sure you're in!

For studying A&P I'd focus on the brain, immune system, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, and digestive system.

I really hope I got in. My highest score was math.

I wonder when they will post the cut off score hopefully it's as soon as Thursday or Friday!
