I just wondering if there are others out there applying this May for the Fall 2014 class. I just found out I have everything to apply at NCTC but with a B in A&P I I only have 10 points and I'm not sure if I will make the cut. Anyone else?
From my understanding, we have to take care of our own background, fingerprinting, etc. I guess we won't know about books, scrubs, etc until orientation. I would love info earlier so I can start looking for stuff cheaper (esp books - like from amazon instead of the bookstore). If anyone finds anything out, plz pass it on. Also, I would be interested in organizing carpooling if we can too.
Wow, getting to this point has been such a focus for so long for me. I don't think it has hit me yet. But it's just one important step on the way to our ultimate goal. I'm proud of all of us. I know everyone on here has worked as hard as I have and we have each had our personal challenges to get to this point. I know we are all up for the challanges yet to come and looking forward to the future! Everyone take a minute to pat yourself on the back and do a little bragging for accomplishing this important milestone. Let's finish strong!
Ok so I spoke with someone this morning because I needed to change my address. So my situation is a bit different but the clearance they are seeking from the board is clearing the roaster list and sending them the L1 cards for fingerprints. I myself needed declatory orders so I have already done that plus I'm an LVN and they have my prints on file. From what I'm told its a blue card that means you officially in. Anyone else have experience with declatory orders?
There is a good post in here from jls0459 regarding some of the things we need to purchase.

I am going to go ahead and get my Landau uniform and my clinical uniform. I found some on Amazon and since I am a prime member I can return stuff for free if it doesn't fit!
Trans2RN, sorry no experience with a declatory order but from my understanding we get the blue card ourselves from the BON, perhaps when we do our background? But I'm not sure. Sorry.
I'm not at all sure what our next steps are really. I guess just we just wait for letters & orientation.

My thought is that they are checking that we don't have any outstanding issues with the BON, such as issues in a previous nursing school or criminal history. I read on the website that they ask people with a criminal history to submit a declaratory order to be cleared through the BON. So they may be checking to make sure applicants have been cleared!
