yes it is possible to do NCLEX without cgfns if you mean the exam, most BON's require you to go through cgfns for some report on evaluation although there are some BON's that do their own evaluation. For immigration everyone has to get a visa screen from cgfns/ICHP if they are doing it through their job if going through another route ie fiance you do not need visa screen. A lot depends on where you want to live

NCLEX is a national exam, and it is not easier if you go thru one state or another. It also does not matter where you write the exam. It is a computerized exam, and the questions will be given to you based on how you answered the ones before.

There is no such thing as an NCLEX exam for a particular state. It is used by all states.

If you mean the CGFNS exam, most states don't require it. Foreign nurses often go through Vermont or New Mexico for initial licensure, although VT is not fast anymore, it takes 3-4 months to get the approval to sit NCLEX after you apply. I think New Mexico is the fastest, although as Suzanne said it depends where you want to end up working, as it's often faster to go directly to the state you want to work in.

the questions in nclex will be same for all BON & it will be same for everybody attending at the same time (same centre) or different questions for each person?

the NCLEX is standard for everyone regardless on what state BON you go through, the questions are CAT and depend on your answer, the questions do vary from person to person and you will be asked anything from 75 to 265

the best thing to do is buy and do as many questions that you can on the NCLEX exam. Suzanne has done some things in the NCLEX forum would suggest you check it out

Yes it is, you have to choose which state do you prefer to work. I got 2 licenses, 1 is Calif license and the other is AZ license by endorsement.

I did N-CLEX without the CGFNS exam -you just have to choose to license in one of the many States that don't require it. You might also like to apply to States that don't require you to have their CES report because that is very expensive. You can find out requirements on the various Board of Nursings web sites. I believe NM is quickest at this moment in time but Vermont is more straight forward - no fingerprints etc & a less complicated form!

You will, however, need CGFNS to do a VisaScreen as part of the immigration requirement, where they will check your traiing transcripts etc but once you have N-CLEX & your US license that will not take too long.

hi there, for a complete list of U.S. State Boards of Nursing and Their CGFNS Requirements for Foreign-Educated Nurses Prior to Licensure check out www.cgfns.org click Tools & Information then click For Applicants.

You need to decide where you wish to work first. And if you select a state for initial licensure that does not require the CES, be aware that many will require it to endorse.

Do your homework first..........

And in reponse to your first question about the NCLEX exam. Each exam will be different, even if you are taking it in the same center and starting at the same time, it is based on how you answered the questions before and the questions are then given based on that.

And no matter where you take the exam, it will be based on the same thing.

Ei does NEW MEXICO requires you to have a CGFNS certificate before you become eligable?

have you had a look or done a search on here? Also have you had a look on their website?

Looking at this you just need CES from CGFNS
