NCLEX 3/2/10 w/ average Kaplan scores ...

hi all... i graduated in december ... and about to face the NCLEX on march 2. I am trying to focus on practicing the questions and learning the strategies and reviewing what i already know.. i know i cant really learn anymore... and i am trying not to focus on how many questions i will get or the "pearson" trick... and i know i cant cram... i need a little confidence before i walk in there .... so my thing is my kaplan scores are only average.... havent hit the 65% kaplan says you need to get on them to pass... my Q bank average is only a 52% ... some of them i did after work though .. i am working as a graduate nurse 40 hrs a week... i do have the next 4 off before the test. My question trainers are: Q1 - 56, Q2 - 53, Q3 - 60, Q4 - 58, Q5 - 48, Q6 - 55, Q7 - 52 .. has anyone else gotten around these scores and passed the NCLEX ? I think Kaplan has been helpful .. but my scores are discouraging... i dont want a negative attitude walking into the testing center.... thanks :)

Predictor scores should not be taken as written in stone. The test is unpredictable and could go either way. The best you can do is to be as prepared as possible. Practice your relaxation techniques the day before the test. Good luck.

You and I could be the same person. I graduated in December and am taking it march 8. I am taking Kaplan and all it is doing is freaking me out. I have been getting in the high 50s on the practice too. I do a little better in acutal kaplan class. But I am physically getting sick with the stress of it. Please post after you take the test to compare the real thing to the class. But it is good to know there is someone else worrying about the same thing as me. I was a good student in school, so I never thought I would be this scared.

You will do fine! I took it last week and didn't think it was as tricky as Kaplan. It was very content based, in my opinion. I also opted for an afternoon time slot. I would have preferred late morning but when I finally saw something later than 8 am open up I grabbed it (2 pm)! I actually showed up at 1 pm and was able to sit for the exam immediately. I am not a morning person at all. I passed with 75 questions in just over an hour's time. Good luck, relax, and make yourself go into this thinking success :nurse:!

:uhoh3:Testing tomorrow!!!!......I am just shaking with anxiety. I never thought I could need an antianxiety so much but I am just trying to pass the time. Honestly, I just want to take the test already so I can get this info out of my head.... it's driving me crazy thinking about the results by wed. morning...o geez!!

i agree.... brain overload is the worst !!!! my test is tomorrow as well... all we can do at this point tho is take deep breaths ... we couldnt have made it this far without knowing something... dont let the anxiety kick your butt !!! :) how can you know the next day ? my state is a quick results state but i thought it was 48 hours....everyone keeps saying they go to a list on their state site and stuff... is there stuff i am not looking at ?

Well I am in FL so we find out using a website what our results are within 24-48hrs... but everyone that I know has been 24hrs. I know it is shorter than many ppl that have to wait 4 weeks but 24hrs will feel like 4 weeks to me!!!

I just finished about 2 1/2 hours ago. I was 150% SHOCKED when the computer shut off at 75. I was expecting 85-90 or so because thats what happened on the ARNETT lol. Overall I felt good but my nerves were getting the best of me. I convinced myself that I was not going to do the pearson vue trick but I also agreed that it made sense. I wasnt going to be able to sleep so I gave in and did it. I got the good pop up so now I can untense my muscles a little bit so I dont throw myself into a sickness from stress and anxiety. I am waiting for good results tomorrow morning.....:redbeathe
