If you will be taking NCLEX and would like to be prayed for, can we start a fourm for this. I know that some folks are not into prayer and I don't want to offend anyone, but I sure need it!
hello iloveclay,
congratulations!!! i'm sooo happy that you passed your nursing boards! good luck in the nursing profession.:yeah:

just to let others know that suzanne's plan can and does work. i let my license lapse in 1989 after practicing in the field for about 12 yrs. i took the old boards. honestly the only thing i remember about them was that they were taken over 2 days and i waited 8 weeks to find out the results.i went on to another degree/career and just recently decided to return. as you can see, i've been gone awhile.
so i googled and i found this forum. and searched and found information about nclex. i found suzanne's plan. so i started that in late august and on october 10th i took the nclex and found out on october 12th that i had passed.
so if i can do it after being gone from nursing for so long, so can you.
i do need to add that i did not use her plan exclusively. i supplemented it with kaplan qtrainers and the book. i wanted to be real sure i was prepared.
but her plan really helped me nail down content.
good luck to everyone
I take my NCLEX this month and I believe God did Not bring me this far to fail so I am going in with God on my side and confidences. It is OURS and all we have to do is take it. You have five ours that means 5 or so minutes on a quetion. I want to make a difference in peoples lifes. I need this badly. So on that note STUDY, LAUGH and PASS!
hi everybody,
i have been an on and off visitor on this forum ever since i failed my first nclex. i am very glad that i found this site, it was a blessing. i want to thank all of you for your support. you all inspiration to continue esp. "determined girl". i had never failed in any exam in my life before, so you can imagine how horrible i felt when i found that i failed. i had taken kaplan program my first time around. kaplan had good resources as far as practice questions but they it didn't help me build on my content area. i decided to study on my own and built on my content. but i did the most unlikely thing after that, i went for a three week vacation:d.
right after i got back from my vacation, i studied for one month straight. i started my day at 7 a.m, then took hundred nclex style questions and reviewed them. in the afternoon, i reviewed saunders 4th edition may be 50 pages or so a day and did all of the questions after each chapter. i made notes from saunders and the nclex style questions that i got wrong and reviewed them for an hour or two before i went to sleep. i didn't take any weekend off, but i made sure i practiced minimum of 75 questions on the weekends. oh, also i went over all my practice questions at least once.
i never studied like this in my life. i tried to take it easy the night before my nclex. my exam was at 8 a.m, but i kept tossing and turning the whole night. i guess my sympathetic system kicked in at the wrong time and i didn't get any sleep. i got myself candies and arrived at the exam center 30 minutes prior to the exam. i was very stressed out, this was the worst thing. i sat in the car for 15 mins taking deep breaths in and out and finally went to tackle the devil.
the computer shuts off at 75 questions and it took me one and half hour. i had 5-6 sata questions and many priority questions. i saw many questions similar to my practice questions :bowingpur . two days after my exam i found out that i passed. yippieeee.... i had promised myself that i will not forget to thank my friends here at this forum if i passed.
here are study materials that i used
-saunders nclex review 4th edition, (questions after each chapter were good practice) however i prefer the kaplan type questions which has closer nclex wording.
-kaplan question trainer (1,000 questions)
-nclex rn 3500
-https://www.ncsbn.org/products.htm (unlike kaplan, ncsbn has less expensive practice exams, starting from $50 for three week unlimited practice questions) they design the nclex questions.
good luck to all of you who will take nclex in future
Hi iloveclay!Thank you soo much for sharing your experience, I have been away for almost 5 years and I failed the nclex twice. To see that you were able to came back after so long inspired me to keeo trying!I love this site!
Thanks again!
Giving up should never be an option in order to beat this exam keep studying and give yourself time to prepare because things change. GOOD LUCK to you and your studies!:) You will do this. Make sure you have a consistent study schedule and you will do this.:redpinkhe
I have failed the RN NCLEX X3 which resulted in my losing a position that was offered to me before I graduated nursing school. Recently I sat for the LPN boards just to see how I would do and wouldn't you know....I passed with the minimum number of questions. I have secured employment as an LPN and have started going through the Saunders book in order to participate in Suzanne's Plan. I am so discouraged about failing the RN exam X3, but can't help feeling I can still pass the RN exam some day. The only thing is that in my state, I can take the RN NCLEX only 5 times and then it's all over. Would any of you suggest going to another state to take the exam before I try taking it in my home state again? (If I've used up all 5 times in my state, and then pass it in another state I would not be able to transfer the license to my home state)
I'm sooo glad that I've found this website. I have been out of nursing practice for a while as well. I have been researching on what review materials would be helpful. I've taken NCLEX back in September and failed. Well, when I took the test, I knew I was going to fail because of the fact that I didn't really prepare for it. After failing it, I'm now determined to pass the retake. Having 2 kids 'though, it's kind of hard focusing on the review. Any suggestions on how I can review better? Thanks!
