Clear your mind... remind yourself, it's just another test!
I just took this nerve-wrecking son of a gun yesterday. I swear I defecated 3 times before I left the house I kept my composure during the test by reminding myself that it's just another test. I've done many before, and I can do this one too. Nothing else matters; not what's for dinner; not what time I work; nothing but you, and your objective in front of you.
At any time you feel overwhelmed, or believe that you're not focusing correctly, look away from the screen. Steady deep breaths. Read each question carefully. If you do not fully understand what you just read, read the answers, and then re-read the question.
You've 6 hours to complete it, you CAN do this!
If you come across a question that you simply have no idea what the answer could be, remember Maslow's hierarchy of needs, and ABC's priorities. If you get it down to two answers, and the afore mentioned does not help you, go with your gut, and move on! Do not dwell on an overly difficult question!
Remember with select all that apply, read each answer as true/false. Notice if there are answers that contradict one another.
For any, and all of the questions, picture yourself as the nurse at the bedside. Imagine the environment if that helps.
Remember for delegation, even to the LPN/LVN, give them the patient that is most stable, with predictable outcomes!
Above all YOU CAN DO THIS! You know you can... you've done something most people could never do, YOU'VE SURVIVED NURSING SCHOOL! Now get in there, and get your license!
