Can I now apply to another state (like Vermont or Maryland) for NCLEX-RN exam eventhough I haven't received my NCLEX exam result in CA which I took last 3/9/07 in HK? It has been 9 agonizing weeks now and I'm pretty sure that if it's taking this long that I definitely failed the exam! My cousin who took hers in CA last 3/20/07 already got her passing result barely 4 weeks and it was mailed here in PI.
I'm depressed, but I just want to move on and waiting for the result is not making it easier...

their website is www.rn.ca.gov. click on contact us at the right side and you will see the different email add that you can use to email them for a specific inquiry. i've tried to email them twice though and no response at all! good luck to you!

For Filipino nurses who took the NCLEX-RN exam in California, i realized based on experience that you will not be listed in the www.rn.ca.gov's Permanent License Verification if you do not have a valid US Social Security Number (SSN) when you applied for the exam.. So checking if you passed the exam there will not be reliable..
This is in response to tagamargos's statement : "I'm not sure exactly how, but you can check your name at www.rn.ca.gov look for the tab that says "permanent license verification" and type your name."
Filipino nurses who have no US SSN (like me ) will not be listed in that part of the website.. I hope I can get my SSN at the soonest possible time!
You will not get a SSN# until you are actually in the US and have gone thru the immigration process and have a legal document in hand that you have permission to work in the US. No way to get one any other way.
With passing of the NCLEX exam, you only have a letter that you have passed, but do not hold a US license in any form. That letter cannot be used for endorsement since there is no license.
And that is for any foreign nurse, not specific to those from the Philippines.
what is the actual "passed" NLCEX-RN result? I only recieved a letter that requiring me to submit SSN to process the License, Im here in the Philippines and Im looking for my real result to present to an agency that will certify that i passed the exam. I learned that it should be document(s) with my picture on it.....
Ca does not issue a license without a SSN#, so there is only the letter that you have. It can also not be used for endorsement to another state as well.
