I need some advice. I took the boards yesterday I am feeling very depressed . The computer close on 75 questions but I am felling that I have failed. What should I do?
okay folks, this is my first post here on this site....ever.i took the test yesterday. i got booted out after 75 questions. i wanted to yell at the computer and tell it, let me do 15-20 more questions. i can pass!!!
please let me do more!
i had a lot of priority questions, which i studied but when i had the questions i was like.......these patients are so close to being priority questions how do i pick??
i had lots of pharmacology questions in which i said to myself "holy crap!!!! i don't know that drug......i've never even heard of it!!!!"
i left feeling pretty stupid. the first, second and third question stumped me........i felt like i was guessing on all the questions.
anyway. i studied. i did the my very best. i studied saunders, ati some, did the kaplan course and i graduated from tompkins cortland community college with a good gpa.
i am off to nashville tomorrow. hopefully i passed, if i don't it's not the end of the world. i told my husband this am, that i wasn't going to make any deals with god. i want to save those for real emergencies. the legitimate ones. the real bad emergencies that i hope to never have.
everybody........let's keep things in perspective. you are alive to write about your fears and your hopes and you got an education which is something that over 50% of the world population will never get.
if you have food on the table, clothes on your back and someone who loves you that is more than most people in the world will have.....
you all are already well off. you have a computer in front of you.
give yourselves a break, i am going to.
it was nice meeting all of you. even through this computer.
life is about the education.
i haven't failed.......i just wasn't successful this time.
my motto in life is to always do good things. i didn't cheat, i studied and in school i helped everyone i could....being everyone's cheerleader. if i died tomorrow - my only regret is........i don't have one. i did good things and i made good on my promise to be nice to everyone.
maribeth - good luck to everyone taking this test. have faith in yourself and in your school and in those teachers and family members who gave you strength to go to school everyday that you didn't want to.
:welcome: and good luck
I'm a foreign nurse from Turkey who has BSN and experienced for 4,5 years now in general nursing. I have been studying by myself however I decided to take a review course to get a high chance to pass the exam.
Is there anybody who can give me advices which courses are available in Washington D.C? I checked kaplan's but the dates are not good for me. Currently, I'm working in Turkey, Istanbul.
Thaks in advance for your advices.

I am sure you'll be fine :) think positively
Adriane.... take a deep breath.... You probably did better than you think. At any rate, you can spend the next couple of days stressing over every little question and making yourself crazy, or you can try to relax. Either way, you still won't know anything. I say, get a nice massage! You deserve it!
It doesnt matter how many question you get, the test actually should tell you this or they should give you a hand out informing you the number of test questions does not mean you passed or failed. Also it doesnt matter if you got the last one right or not. If you visit the nclex form there is a posting about nclex myths and those are some of them. The nclex is only testing for competency. It is also a smart test so it will form to the way you answer questions. It is only trying to figure out if you are safe to practice. So take a deep breath and have faith in yourself. it is not like test in school, this is a completly different way of measuring your knownledge
this is what we used at my school plus I did a couple books, I passed,my LPN and Rn first time, when I took my LPN I had 89 questions which the minumum is 85 for LPN I got the full for RN I knew I passed both when I knew I got last question right, I know it is nerve racking waiting, but least not like old days where they had to wait months YOU WILL BE OK ILL PRAY FOR YOU!!!!
what are the chances I have passed with 75 ? Does anybody know? I had so many medications questions one after the other
I to just took the NCLEX today, and have the same feelings you do! I had so many med questions, I felt like I was taking a pharmacist exam!!! My test shut off at 75 questions (LPN) nclex. I'm trying not to stress, but I certainly do not feel to confident!!! Hang in there!!!
yeah...the waiting does suck. I took my exam on June 30'th. I got 75 questions....I new I had failed. I didn't know anything either. My test was full of medications. It really did seem like a pharmacist exam. All of my friends said..if you got 75 you passed. That is so not true. I completely bombed it..so it doesn't matter if you got 75, 105, 265....you either passed or failed and all you can do is wait. If you passed that is awesome..you will never have to take that test again..if you failed...you will be really upset, but you have to move on and prepare for the next one. Its too late to just give up!!!

the best thing you can do is try and distract yourself from the exam and waiting for the results. Think positively and try not to second guess some of the questions you have had. Nothing is going to help now until you get the results. We have all be there and know how you are feeling.
