NCLEX results= FAIL :(

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Well after graduuating nursing school and getting accepted into the residency program at our local hospital. I took my NCLEX yesterday. I sat in that chair for 5 hours and 50 minutes!!! Had all 265 questions and failed..Needless to say, I do not get the job at the hospital. The test was awful. I think if I sat through all the darn questions they should have passed me for the torture! Well, I will be fine. I will test again in 45 days...:crying2:

I'm sorry :( I know you're disappointed. Now review what you are weak in, get your nerves under control and get back out there and do your thing. The next post from you will say "I PASSED" We'll see you in about 50 days, time for you to take a 2 day break to lick your wounds and then back to studying you go.

I'm sorry to hear that! But it happens to the best of us!!! I graduate in December and have been asking around of what to study when my time comes. I've heard Hurst is awesome. Kaplan....kind of hard (for me) to study from that book b/c it's basically an outline throughout the whole entire book. For me, I need explantions and things like that. However, it has a lot of info.

Good Luck!!! You know what to expect next time around. Take advantage of that! (I know it's not the same questions) but still you know a little of what to expect!

I took the N-CLEX today and I had all 265 questions...it was insane...I kept asking myself "When is this gonna end?!?!?" I am pretty sure I also failed...I did the Pearson Vue trick and it let me go all the way to the payment page...not a good sign. :crying2::crying2:

I studied from Saunders I did ever single section in the CD 200 questions a day and honestly when I was taking the exam I felt unprepared. My friend had given me exams from Kaplan and I regret not looking over those. I almost changed my test date and now I wish I would have done so.

Does anyone know the re-take process for Florida? is it true you have to pay a $119 fee to re-take and the Pearson $200 fee? I would hate to pay $319!!

Also I see HURST Review was mentioned...do you mean the videos? I got those as well but didn't have time to watch them.

PLEASE HELP IN GIVING STUDY ADVICE...Thank you!!

yes unfortunately you have to pay $119; after everything has been approved you can pay pearson vue $200, $319 in total. sucks, i know i've been in your position. at first i thought i only had to pay to re-take the exam but you have to register with the state. i believe saunders is a great book, re-read it and make sure you understand the content, make sure you do a lot of questions. study if you can everyday for 2 hours and do questions and read every rationale. get the la charity book, because as you probably noticed there's a lot delegation and prioritization. do the kaplan questions your friend gave you and i heard great things about the hurst review. good luck. good luck i'm in florida about to retake the exam my second time, so you are not alone, keep your head high.

oh and wait for the official results even though i've heard the pvt works and it did work for me, still wait for the results. you don't even have to pay for your results. tomorrow at midnight go to the florida bon website and look up test results and it will tell you if you passed or fail, and you will be receiving your results and areas to work on in about a week.

My school paid for us to sit in at the Hurst review when it came to our city. After I graduated, I paid the fee for the online portion and listened and went through the entire lecture with the workbook we were given. I did this and used the disk from my Saunders NCLEX book to answer questions NCLEX. I felt like Hurst really helped me a lot. You can check to see if there is a Hurst review near you and go to it and then if you feel like you'd like to hear it again, do it online too!

Best of luck!

sucks having to pay $319...i so regret not changing my exam date!!!

i'll wait for the results but i am convinced i failed! if you don't mind me asking what did you use to study the first time and how long did you study for before taking the exam??

good luck to you...you'll pass this time!!

Hey there,

Don't give up hope. This time, you could wait to apply for a position until after you get your license and be certain to be a good candidate. In the meantime, take the chance to volunteer as a CNA in an area of interest, perhaps even at the same place to prove your mettle.

If it helps, I passed my NCLEX without too much difficulty and I think this was in large part thanks to my prep.

To study,

- I Did 150 NCLEX-style questions a night for 3 weeks straight on the NCLEX 4000 CD

- Highlighted the whole of Saunders Review

- Nearly memorized my in-person test review HESI book (You may be able to get this on Ebay or something - or I could mail you my copy)

--> To note: focus on infection control, safety measures, important labs and basic classes of medication adverse reactions, i.e. serotoin syndrome.

If you have the cash, I hear Kaplan is a great option for learning how to take the NCLEX - which is half the battle.

If you need any additional help, feel free to contact me. Good luck!

Hi Rhiannon

I just took my NCLEX_PN on Monday and found that I failed using the Pearson Vue Trick.

Thanks for sharing your study tips. When I sat to take my test I was so positive about the test and confident that I understood the questions and answered them the best I could. I am so bummed. It feels like its a dream. I just wanted to ask you where I can find the HESI book. I am using Kaplan, Saunders and Exam Cram.

Best wishes on your retry.

I got the same results and also lost a job over it. I just rememeber that maybe that job wasn't not for me. I am doing the Kaplan course and love it. I feel that it is helping me with mistakes that I made taking the nclex. I wish the best for u!!!! You Can do this!!!!!!!!!!
