NCLEX-PN Uhhh!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Well, I took the nclex on Wednesday and should find out today how I did. I can honestly say I walked out of there thinking I failed it. I felt like I guessed at half the test. The test itself only took me an hour and 15 minutes. I'm wondering now if maybe I rushed it. I just kept thinking about what one of my instructors always said to me, "Go with your first gut instinct". My brother and sister in law drove me to the test center because I was so nervous. They were surprised when I called at 10 and told them to pick me up. My test stopped at 85, but I had 10 check all that apply questions :o I hate those types of questions. I feel like I've read every post on this forum since I took the test. I guess I'm looking for a rationale of why I had so many darn check all that apply questions.

Anyway, to those waiting for their results (like me)...I know how you feel. This has been the longest 2 days of my life.

I know what you mean about those "check all that apply", because I ALWAYS miss one which makes me miss the whole question! UGH! I have been taking practice tests and those are the questions that I have the hardest time with. Besides those type questions how well do you think you did?

Good luck to you, I am rooting for you!

Thanks for the support :) Honestly, I have no clue how I did. Most of my questions were prioritizing and delegation, which I usually do well at at. But...I really felt as though I was guessing. There were only a few questions that I was absolutely sure about. At the very least, the drugs I knew. I had no math questions at all.

I'm checking about every 30 minutes for the result. At this point, I just want to know one way or the other. I guess what's so scary (for all of us, not just me) is that I have so much riding on this.

I'll be sure and post back when I know the results.

Im far from close to taking the Nclex, but we have to do NCLEX questions every week in lab and I HATE those choose all the apply questions. its not that they are that hard, its just you always pick all the right one's and then there is the one that you arent sure of and you dont pick it, and of course it is one that sould have been picked, and you did not pick and and get the question wrong, grrrr

Hope all the best with your NCLEX, good luck

Andy

Your test sounds similar to mine and I passed. I took RN so I had 75 questions. At one point I had 2 check all that apply in a row, it took everything I had to not stand up and walk out of that room when that happened. I might have gotten 1 check all that apply question correct in my entire life! My test had questions about illnesses and drugs I have never heard of. It was insane. It took me a little over an hour also. Good luck!

Well, I just got my results from PearsonVue. I passed!!! :balloons: This is a tremendous relief. The past 2 days have been terrible. I have extreme compassion for the people in the states where they have to wait several weeks.

Thanks to everyone for letting me vent this morning. I went to bed at 2 this morning and woke up at 5. I'm sure it was due to worrying about this. I'm positive I'm running on sheer adrenaline.

Thanks again to everyone,

Stephanie

Congratulations!!!!!!!!:balloons: :balloons: :nurse:

I have to take it real soon, and of course I'm as nervous as ever.

What did you use to study? I've been using Saunder's, and I've only been studying for 3 weeks now. Can you give me some advise on preparing for the test?

I graduated in October. About a month before graduation I bought the Saunders book and started working off the cd. I was averaging about 100 questions a day. After I graduated, I started working on the book (sometimes it helps me to actually have a book in my hand). I worked through the book twice. I did make sure and read the rationales even if I answered the question correctly. My plan was to go back and work the entire cd again, but my youngest daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy on Nov 28 and honestly, I didn't study for a few weeks after that. About a week and a half ago, I started working on the cd again. I was doing a couple of hundred questions a day.

Honestly, I'm not sure how I passed the nclex. But, the Saunders book must have helped me :) If I had to do it all over again, I would follow Suzanne's plan because it uses the Saunders book.

Hope this helps,

Stephanie

Congratulations!

I used Saunders, too. Same methodology as yours. Stopped and passed at 85.
