Hey everyone!
I wanted to start a thread for those taking NCLEX soon, whether this summer or simply sometime this year. I'm actually taking mine within the upcoming week!
**activate panic mode now** haha
I want us to be able to share tips, what we found helpful, what didn't work, and of course once we pass!
I took the Kaplan course and also found it helpful when people shared their scores, so I could relate and feel just as confident in their success. (What else is this website for, but help and comfort during chaos!)
So, my scores have been as follows:
Q bank: 100% complete at 64%
Q Trainer 5: 66
Q Trainer 6: 60
Q Trainer 7: 63
Readiness test: 64
(I did all the q trainers, but the beginning ones multiply times after a month or so, thus scores aren't completely true?)
How is everyone else doing!?
Best of luck; we're almost to finish line!

Qbank: 64% with 85% complete
Diagnostic: 62%
Q1: 67%
Q2: 63%
Q3: 63%
Q4: 57% (tried to do with cruise ship internet? Bad idea!)
Q5: 64%
Q6: 69%
Q7: taking Thursday
Readiness: 66%
My exam is scheduled for next week :-/ my biggest struggle areas are basic care and comfort (63%), management (60%), and reduction of risk potential (61%), and Health Promotion and Maintenance (51% - ouch!)
It feels like I'll never be ready! @.@
Skittles, your scores are great! You are definitely more than ready if Kaplan is any indication of our success, which it is!
I completely agree, as my professors said, you'll never feel ready for this test...we just have to go for it

I finished all the Q bank with 51% right!!!!! The best thing to get from Kaplan is the rationales, more questions I did especially in Q bank, I didn't bother to take the others over because I tend to memorize answers but I did review the rationales to get an understanding.
Take your time during the test!!!! It is not impossible to pass!!!! Don't get caught up in all the didn't pass for the ?x!!!! It is only as hard as you make!!!!!

Hi Carolina_mom,
I was wondering how are the nclex questions in comparison to the bank questions? I am taking my exam in less than two weeks. I am freaking out because I feel that I am doing poorly (percetange wise) in all of the practice questions that I have taken. So far I have used Hurst review, prep-u and I'm finishing off the remainder of the time with kaplan. please let me know.

In my opinion I think the NCLEX questions are similar to Kaplan questions especially trainer 6 and trainer 7. I got a 65.5 on trainer 6 and a 66.4 on trainer 7. I took NCLEX yesterday and my test shut off at 75 questions!!! I did the Pearson vue trick and got the "good" pop up. I think Kaplan is a great tool. Kaplan recommends you get at least a 60% or above on trainer 6 and 7 before taking your exam. However I know people who scores in the high 50s and still passed. The key is remediating over all your answers. Good luck everyone!

Finished the sample tests, 76% of Qbank so far, gonna do a few more this afternoon to hit at least 80%. Then I'm taking the NCLEX tomorrow afternoon!!! A part of me wants to wait and finish the Qbank, but I cannot take another sleepless night! Like others have said, you'll never feel totally ready. Just gotta go for it!
