Hey everyone!
I wanted to start a thread for those taking NCLEX soon, whether this summer or simply sometime this year. I'm actually taking mine within the upcoming week!
**activate panic mode now** haha
I want us to be able to share tips, what we found helpful, what didn't work, and of course once we pass!
I took the Kaplan course and also found it helpful when people shared their scores, so I could relate and feel just as confident in their success. (What else is this website for, but help and comfort during chaos!)
So, my scores have been as follows:
Q bank: 100% complete at 64%
Q Trainer 5: 66
Q Trainer 6: 60
Q Trainer 7: 63
Readiness test: 64
(I did all the q trainers, but the beginning ones multiply times after a month or so, thus scores aren't completely true?)
How is everyone else doing!?
Best of luck; we're almost to finish line!
I test on Friday and I'm also nervous. I did Hurst (online), La Charity, and Kaplan Qbank. So far I'm about 90% done and at 58-59%. However, my scores have been averaging more in the 60's now that I'm progressing further through the bank. My definite weaknesses are maternity, pharm and memorizing all labs. I'm more in fear of having 265 questions than I am of not passing.
I just started Kaplan ON Demand today and took the Diagnostic Test and scored 69%. I was really feeling lousy about it thinking it was a horrible score. Thanks everyone for posting your scores. I feel totally better knowing that 60s are good. Deep breathing everyone. We survived nursing school we can do this too!
Here are my Kaplans Scores!:Diagnostic 52
QT1 59
QT2 64
QT3 55
QT4 57
QT5 61
QT6 61
QT7 65
Readiness 58
Finished the sample tests, 76% of Qbank so far, gonna do a few more this afternoon to hit at least 80%. Then I'm taking the NCLEX tomorrow afternoon!!! A part of me wants to wait and finish the Qbank, but I cannot take another sleepless night! Like others have said, you'll never feel totally ready. Just gotta go for it!
Firefly… Good luck, let us know how it goes.

This is my 2nd time to take the NCLEX and im so pressured this time. It took me almost 7 months to prepare for my 2nd take. My kaplan scores are as ff:diagnostic: 66QT 1: 69QT 2: 73QT 3: 68QT 4: 64QT 5: 61 (dont know what happened here..)QT 6: 66QT 7: 68readiness: 74Secured exam: 63Intensive review final exam:71by the way im an internationally educated nurse. Freakin' out at this time because tomorrow is the big day! Please pray for me?
My diagnostic Kaplan was a 63%, and the readiness was a 68%, my average in qbank (I completed 95% before taking NCLEX) was 62%. Time got away from me and I didn't complete QTrainers 6&7, but I got anywhere from 59%-67% on the first 5. I did 2 sample NCLEX (which seemed pretty much the same as a qbank with all topics to me!) and only got 59 on them.
I feel like the questions I got on the NCLEX were a bit harder than Kaplan, but maybe that was just me! The best example I have is instead of prioritizing 4 patients with 4 different complaints, I had to prioritize 4 patients with the same complaint, but different symptoms, labs, and histories.. (not an exact NCLEX question.. I signed the agreement not to disclose test info, and I'm not about to get in trouble! haha)
But I think Kaplan helped me with my thought process, and helped slow down my immediate click reflex
Best of luck! I'll be excited to see the update that you passed!
I felt the same way kjrober, I thought NCLEX was harder than Kaplan for that same reason. I call those type of questions, splitting hairs because you had to really read each answer choice and dissect it, there were rarely any that were straightforward.
SSRM, In your opinion, did you feel that the Kaplan decision tree helped with these types of questions? I feel like I know my material and test taking is my issue. That is why with just over a week left before I take the NCLEX, I am practicing test taking with the decision tree.
I think all of you are definitely ready to conquer NCLEX. I found out today that I passed at 75 questions! I think Kaplan does a decent job preparing you for the exam and types of questions and their wording. But, I didn't use the decision tree as much as I would have liked. Some of the questions are just impossible to apply it too, you simply ask yourself uummm ok, so what are the outcomes and is it desired? Everyone is going to do great!

I scored low in Kaplan. High 50s to mid 60s. I got a 59% on my QBANK. Kaplan is harder than NCLEX, you'll be fine! I passed in 95 questions last month.
