just got my nclex results.............

  1. I FAILED again for the 2nd time, this is getting so frustrating. Not sure if I can go through all this again, all those nights revising, doing on line tests. thing what gets me is when doing the Mosby's computer adaptive test I was testing out at 94%, so where did I go wrong? How many times can you actually resit the nclex? I heard its 3 times for any state, then you have to undertake a training program is that correct? I live in the UK and am desperate to get to the states, anyone else out there in the same boat as me?

The rules for retaking the NCLEX vary from state to state. I'm really surprised that you failed after doing so well on the practice tests. Did you have overwhelming anxiety on test day?

Suzanne is a moderator on this forum. She offers a study plan using a book called Saunders Comprehensive Review. She has a very high success rate. The information is located at the top of the forum page.

The number of times that you can take the NCLEX varies from state to state. For example, in my state, Nevada, I can only take it three times. However, I can go next door to California and take it as many times that I need to in order to pass.

Hi there, I've still to sit the exam (waiting for ATT), but I can recommend saunders and suzannes program. I think it's difficult to study when you're doing it on your own so it helps to have a plan and direction from someone. I hope you get lucky next time, I just want it over and done with cos I feel as if thats all I think about lately:selfbonk:

Here is a question for you all...

How can you pass nursing school and fail the NCLEX?? Is it THAT HARD?? You would think if one was a good nursing student, you'd do fine on the test. Now I am scared!! E

Epona, IMO, I don't believe that the nursing schools do enough to prepare students for the NCLEX, which I think is really unfair. You go to school so you can pass that stupid test. The schools tend to rush students through with a lot of content and not enough preparation. This is why some people have to spend more money in preparation in order to prepare to pass. For example, prioritization and delegation was barely covered at my school.

It may also be that some people just aren't good test takers...as in my case. I made dean's list all through school but just passed the nclex on my second try.

Sorry to hear that ... I'm from the UK too and quite lucky to make it the first time. Just be patient and carry that determination to succeed .... It was the thought of starting a new life, new career in America that really kept me going. Do your questions daily, discipline yourself. I highly recommend Saunders and Lippincott, and if you have too much time in your hands .... study. It is also through reading the posts on this forum that helped me a lot to succeed.... everyone is very supportive and inspiring. Kudos to everyone in allnurses!

Don't give up, we are with you all the way!
