Well...just got home a little bit ago from taking NCLEX yet again. I finished this time with 75 questions and I know that I got 3 out of my last 4 questions right. I know one of the last questions was an "application/analysis" question and I got it right but again, I'm freaking out! I'm reviewing the other questions that I had and I did get a some right and some of them wrong! Ughh...this is frustrating! Also, since I took my test today (thursday) and I have to wait 2 business days for results...do I have to wait till Monday or will I get the results on Saturday??? Ughh...I hate playing the waiting game. Anyone have any insight to aything??:typing

I don't know where you are but if it's Florida wait 24 hours after you finished the test and call the BON and ask for your license number. They'll ask you for you name, d.o.b., and ss# and they should have it. In 48 hours it posts on the BON website.

I'm in Illinois.

The illinois board of nursing?? That's what you mean right?? Well...they would be closed on saturday so I guess I'll just have to wait out the weekend!!!

What do you mean about 15 not counting, Nurseismade?

Good luck, JCrow!

Good luck, JCrow!

This was quoted by Suzanne the moderator:

"The 15 questions that are considered 'test or trial ' questions never count, and they are not added into how you do on the exam. They are selected before you even write the exam as they will not count, so no reason to focus on them. There is also no way to determine which are one of the 15".

You can also go to this link for more infor...or type trial nclex questions in search.

What this also means in a nutshell...if your computer shuts off at 75 and you passed. Your pass was based on 60 questions and staying above the passing rate of 50+% answering 30 minimum questions in their order of difficulty......or something like that!!:D

TrueRN also quoted ..."Just think...if you get 75 questions 15 of those are "test" questions that don't count. That only leaves 60 questions and you just have to get half of those right'

i searched for the illinois bon licensure verification page and this is what i found. if it's right, it might help you.

from the illinois center for nursing website http://www.nursing.illinois.gov/ you can follow the links to the license information, which takes you to the illinois division of professional regulation site, and from there you can follow licensure information to this page https://www.idfpr.com/dpr/licenselookup/default.asp

if it's anything like the bon site in my state, you can look yourself up and see if you have a license or not. where i am, you enter your name and it will tell you if you are pending or if you have a license. that might be faster than your official notification! good luck!

Here's my best advice for your situation: You took the test, you did your best. Period. It's out of your hands now. Get on about your weekend, and don't even look in your mailbox until Monday. Really.

It's gonna be what it's gonna be, when it's gonna be there, and you worrying about it isn't going to make it happen one single second faster.

Be nice to yourself over the weekend, catch up with some friends, rent a movie, bake some bread.

The news will come, and you will be fine.

All the best to you.

Well everyone I actually was just able to find out about my scores and I failed! I'm pretty shocked considering I only had 75 questions and I did OVER 1,000 study questions on Kaplan! Ughh...I feel like I just want to crawl in a hole and not come out! It's weird...I graduated in May...took the Martin Review here in Chicago...had a baby in June and took boards in July and had 265 questions and fail!! I was so sleep deprived from having an infant I should have never took the test then but I must have done SO much better that time than this time! Crazy! Maybe I just have too much going on right now between work, being a new mom, and financial issues...ughhh...anyone have any advice for me! I just signed up again for the martin review in feb and if I can take boards again in 45 days then that puts me at the end of feb. I just have to keep on taking it as long as my pocket book can afford it (and my sanity)!!!! Thanks for all the prayers. You will all be in mine as well.

JCrow - I had a good friend of mine fail it 3 times (and he graduated magna cum lade) but when he did pass, the job he was looking at when we first graduated that wasn't avalible, but when he passed...it was (it was a sign!) ;-) If there is a bunch of stuff going on in your life then that can be a distraction but I think everything happens for a reason. Don't forget about all of the things you do have (like a new baby! and remember he/she is your motivation!) You can do it! Just remember to stay positive!
