NCLEX...don't break my heart...again!!!

Published

Well...just got home a little bit ago from taking NCLEX yet again. I finished this time with 75 questions and I know that I got 3 out of my last 4 questions right. I know one of the last questions was an "application/analysis" question and I got it right but again, I'm freaking out! I'm reviewing the other questions that I had and I did get a some right and some of them wrong! Ughh...this is frustrating! Also, since I took my test today (thursday) and I have to wait 2 business days for results...do I have to wait till Monday or will I get the results on Saturday??? Ughh...I hate playing the waiting game. Anyone have any insight to aything??:typing

I took my boards on yesterday and had 75 questions...some of which were really crazy...I don't think that I passed..because there were a few SATA and a couple of delegation questions..like "which one would u have the LPN to see" and the rest were like diseases.. and some basic teaching and quite a few drug questions..but also some basic safety questions..so that really freaked me out! Some question that even a CNA should know...lol. Anyone have anything like these type of questions??????????? AND PASS???

Oh I am so sorry for your bad news. Keep trying. Be good to yourself.

(The above sorry did not imply ownership, rather sympathy...but that is another thread)

Pick up a Pearson exam cram NCLEX prep book, the CD that comes with it is exactly like the real thing in the way the questions are worded and it has the new question formats as well, one of my friends from school failed the first time and I gave her my book & CD and she spent 2 months studying that one and passed the next time. Keep your head up, you can beat the NCLEX monster!!

I had a lot of questions about delegation, and 1 about Botox. That one threw me for a loop. I passed.

So sorry to hear that you didn't pass! I know many wonderful RNs who didn't pass on their first or second tries! Keep your chin up and try again when you are allowed and when you feel ready. Good luck!

Well everyone I actually was just able to find out about my scores and I failed! I'm pretty shocked considering I only had 75 questions and I did OVER 1,000 study questions on Kaplan! Ughh...I feel like I just want to crawl in a hole and not come out! It's weird...I graduated in May...took the Martin Review here in Chicago...had a baby in June and took boards in July and had 265 questions and fail!! I was so sleep deprived from having an infant I should have never took the test then but I must have done SO much better that time than this time! Crazy! Maybe I just have too much going on right now between work, being a new mom, and financial issues...ughhh...anyone have any advice for me! I just signed up again for the martin review in feb and if I can take boards again in 45 days then that puts me at the end of feb. I just have to keep on taking it as long as my pocket book can afford it (and my sanity)!!!! Thanks for all the prayers. You will all be in mine as well.

I am so sorry.....take a deep breath, even a cry...then move on. You will be a nurse. I don't know much about the Martin review....but the Kaplan review is great. Some reviews focus on content but kaplan focus is strategies. I really believe Kaplan helped me to pass on first try w/75q. I was your average student. I feel we pretty much know content after being in school for 2 years. Just brush up your weak areas. Mine was endocrine. But it definetly takes strategy to answer most of the questions.....and I don't just mean ABC's or maslows......there are more....Kaplan teaches you all of them. Also practice prioritizing and delegation and do the study questions daily.

I am sorry to hear that you did not pass this time. The first time I took NCLEX I did not pass so I used Suzanne's plan to study the second time. I was only able to do step one and then I answered at least 100 questions a night until two days before I took my test. The night before I relaxed, prayed that God would get my mind ready for the exhausting test and went about my day. I woke the morning of the test nervous but went in and did my best. With God's blessing I passed. Stay positive and read on Suzanne's plan posted in the Student's section of the site under NCLEX. Maybe you can try that instead of paying for the same class again.

I took my exam in IL 1/29 no result yet.... I am nervous. 75q -seems very mixed with the pass/fail. I had 6 SATA no math.... I took Kaplan. This waiting period is tough I can't imagine the states that do not have 48hr results.
