I'm in the NCP (Nurse Candidate Program) and will be graduating from nursing school at the end of the year and wanted to know if anyone has heard anything about when they're supposed to be leaving for ODS in Rhode Island.
Also, has anyone gotten their orders yet from your detailer?
I spoke with my detailer today and he said he could get me into my first pick (San Diego) and that I could go to ODS at the end of January...
Hello to all of y'all going to ODS here in a few weeks! That will be me in one year. Just signed my papers today for the NCP :-D Hope you guys enjoy your time..and maybe when everything is said and done share about your ODS experience for those of us who haven't been yet can read?! I'm sure I'm not the only person who would appreciate it!
Hey Anyone with info,
I have been accepted into the Navy Nurse Corps for this year as an alternate. My recruiter told me that I was number 69 of the 65 spots that got picked up this year. I was just wondering if anyone had any info about the likelyhood of people backing out and since this whole Haiti disaster, what the chances of them expanding on the number they take. But any info about any of it will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Hi!can anybody tell me about the NCP? particularly how competitive it is to get and what they look for? Also is there deadline for applying? ANY info would be great thanks!
The one thing that comes to mind without my sitting here and thinking of what all to tell you is this:
if your interested, find and contact your local recruiter. these spots fill quick. The navy NCP is currently not taking anyone else for the program for the year 2010. They are starting to look for 2011 now.
hi everyone,
I'm just starting the steps for the NCP program, I graduate with my BSN in May 2012, and I had a few questions, first I'm having trouble with the "Tell us why you want to commission, the reason I'm having problems with this is because I don't have alot of leadership or management or nurse experience, second, out of the army, air force, navy, what made you pick the navy? third-I'm really nervous about the interview portion, any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated, 4th-my long term goal is to be a NP or a CRNA-Does the navy offer chances for this once the time comes? What is the promotion rate like? I'm not completely clueless far as the military goes, I'm prior enlisted 6 years active duty in the army, I just don't know alot about how the navy works....also what assignments can I expect as a new graduate???? Also to the person who is graduating in September, I don't think you have enough time to participate in the NCP...
