You can decide what would look best based on the color of scrubs you wear. Or you can opt for the one least popular on your unit. That would make it less likely to be permanently borrowed.
What every you do, I would have it engraved with your initials and keep it on you at all times.

Lots of people seem to like burgundy. That is probably partly why mine is missing. There have been posts about the light colors being hard to keep the tubing nice looking, so I would choose any color that is dark. And yes, engrave it; although engraving didn't save mine.

Because a lot seem to disappear where I work and have lost a good one before, I picked the more obvious/rare color for mine.. bright neon pink LOL. I am not sure if they still sell that color, but I STILL have it after all this time.

I have the limited edition breast cancer pink one. My name is engraved with a little message from my ex who bought it for me. I have managed to not loose it in over 3 years. LOL

I personally like the Navy one...but like Burgundy, Navy is also a popular color and so your steth may be a bit more likely to "walk off". But pick whichever one that YOU like better.
Besides engraving it, you could use some brightly colored tape to decorate the steth tubing, so it's obvious at a glance/distance that it's yours.

Okay this is a bit unrelated but I have a question. Why do I read about so many people buying stethoscopes? Where I work the hospital supplies them and there are usually about a dozen good ones available to choose from. We aren't required to provide our own. Is this an American thing? (I'm Canadian). As for your question I would go for the burgundy.:)

i would think the hospital stock is of avg quality...
whereas those who buy specifically littman's (or others), are paying for the above-avg quality.
op, i cannot choose betw navy or burgundy.
i dislike both colors.
