NAU Nursing Fall 2016

Published

I thought I would start this blog for the NAU spring 2016 nursing program application cycle!

I take the Kaplan exam on March 11th and the application is due during spring break. (March 15th)

Just want to know who else is out there apply this cycle :)

I thought the hesi was 100xs easier than the Kaplan.. I did really well on it

Specializes in Geriatrics.

Yes. I have heard that. The downside is making 24 credits at there school. They also require Christian world view among other prerequisites.

That sucks..that's 2 whole semesters! Have you looked into ASU or U of A, or any other community colleges?

ASU requires additional prerequisites and the dreaded TEAS. That test I've heard is impossible. U of A is a lot more competitive than any other school.

Since I already have an Associates Degree I would prefer getting a BSN. That's why I chose NAU. Community colleges just do Associates, then you have to do additional online school to get a bachelors degree.

The job market really looks for a straight BSN. One of my friend's moms did community college and gets paid significantly less than coworkers with BSN for the same job.

If it helps anyone, I went back and looked at my rejection letter from last cycle and it was sent exactly one month plus one day from the application deadline....

If this cycle follows the other one, that would put our letters in by April 16th.

Oh, my gosh. Hopefully. That would mean next week! Guys. I cant wait. :nailbiting:

Probably next Friday or next Saturday or maybe even the Monday after that.

Hopefully even maybe this week??

I am so nervous I can't sleep!!

Just as soon as possible. Sigh. I want to talk about it and I love talking about it, but it really does make the anticipation worse!

If I don't get into NAU I was going to take the ADN route and then do the CEP program. That allows me to get my BSN while I'm still working on my ADN. So in the end I graduate with a BSN.

I've been look through threads and people comment so much.. On this thread it's just us 3 lol where is everyone at :p
