NAU Nursing Fall 2016

Published

I thought I would start this blog for the NAU spring 2016 nursing program application cycle!

I take the Kaplan exam on March 11th and the application is due during spring break. (March 15th)

Just want to know who else is out there apply this cycle :)

Yes. I knew I wouldn't get in last semester because I was just starting BIO 202 and that's pretty much the only thing the science section on the Kaplan covers. Because I hadn't completed the course yet, I got a 55 on the science section, and that was below the qualification cutoff. And good for you! I hope, if we get accepted, you enjoy the nursing program more than public health. :)

I didn't even know there was a cut-off. I had gotten onto the main website and looked at all the campuses and Yuma doesn't have much of anything except they take 20 applicants (10 accepted, 10 alternates). Other than that there wasn't a min. score or a specific GPA that needs to met. It is terrible cause we really have no idea as what is expected.

I hope so too! I had originally started as nursing major here at our community college and ended up changing my major like 3 times; I should have just stuck to the plan haha

Yeah, I think the cutoff this semester for Science is a 65. Hahaha it's hard deciding on a major at first! I went back and forth between psychology and nursing probably 10 times. :cheeky:

Well at least I got higher than 65 lol

Yeah i bounced between nursing and becoming a Medical Lab Technologist...then I realized how much chemistry was required and slowly backed away from that.

Once my husband got into nursing school and was sharing how awesome it was, I decided that is what I wanted to do...and so here we are waiting :)

Good job :) and how cool! My boyfriend is going to school right now for respiratory therapy and his experiences also inspired me. :) does your husband go to NAU?

No he doesn't. He goes to our community college here in Yuma. He originally wanted to go to ASU, but with 2 kids we can't just up and leave. He does plan on getting his BSN through ASU after he graduate, which is in 2 semesters! :woot:

Oh good for him! Sounds like you guys have things figured out. :) by the way, I got my email!

Yay!!! Did you get in??

I haven't gotten one yet

I haven't gotten anything yet either.

Maybe it's going by campuses??

Yes, I got accepted! I could cry. Maybe they do send them at different times for different campuses. Or maybe I just got lucky? Hopefully you guys will get your emails soon, sometime today!

I don't know but I was shaking when I refreshed my email.... Only to find coupons and other worthless junk. LOL
