Mt. Sinai $68,000 effective 1/07
Just incase anyone is wondering about Bronx and Westchester hospitals:
Lawrence Hospital Center in Bronxville: 30.61 per hr (new grad) up to $41.62 hr (with exp) + $0.51 hr BSN & $3,995 yr evening diff, $7800 Night Diff NON- Union Hospital
NY Westchester Square Medical Center: NYSNA hosp $62,717 base + $1,300 BSN
Night diff $6,000
Montefiore: NYSNA base $68,456 + $1,300 BSN & Night Diff = $6,000
White Plains Hospital Center- non union $59,000 Base + $1,000 BSN
Thats about all I know for now.
Basically every hospital in the Bx pays less than NYC hospitals except Monte and obviously HHC hospitals are the same all around.
Salary is huge when it comes to choosing a facility to work at. I know that I didnt study so hard in school to be making slacker salary:wink2:
:typing also with the city lifting their hire freeze what is their base and night differential? Thanks any info will do!!
HHC is raising the base to a little over $65k by July and the night differential is $5400 or so, putting you a little over $70k if you work nights.
Tuition reimbursement is ... wait for it.... $2000 per year!!! WOW!
still, decent starting salary and totally worth you investing 3 or 4 years into a city hospital because the experience you get there is worth thousands. NYSNA is the union though, and their benefits suck. They just reduced the optical benefit to 0, and cut dental and prescriptions by quite a bit. I think 1199 is a better union.
do u have any idea about winthrop hospital in mineola?do they hire any bsn ,rn?am a brand new nurse i heard nobody wil hire a fresh graduate nowadays .is tht true ?????am worrying all these stuffs?????and i have one more question which department wil we choose at the first time .i mean in learning aspects which department is best??????
Hi My friend worked at Winthrop. She started working there fresh out of RN school. She has her ASN and she was hired there starting around 67K. She was an LPN prior to becoming an RN so maybe that affected her starting pay. She worked there for about 3 years on the Surgical Floor. She got her experience under her belt and she got out of there. Now she works for another hospital in Long Island.
I'm a new grad and I got hired at Winthrop. I just graduated this May... I posted some info on them a little bit before you're post... maybe the page before. They start at $64K for days and $70.5K for nights for new grads with ADNs... BSNs get an extra $1500 or so per year differential. They do hire new grads... matter of fact, they just hired a bunch of new grads. I heard it is best to start out on Med-Surg. Someone else told me Telemetry is good and most of the patients are Walky-Talkies (That means they are able to walk and talk to you.) I got hired for a telemetry floor that has about 8 beds reserved for med-surg but is mostly telemetry. Winthrop is an excellent place to work as a new grad though. They have a very good orientation -it is longer than most hospitals'. Oh, and their tuition reimbursement is $3400 or so per year...
They just hired a bunch of new grads so they may be a little slow on hiring now but I heard that once July and August orientations come up, some people don't show so they hire more new grads then... Good luck!!!
