do u knw whn their orientation program starts?nd whn wil be their interview nd all........bcoz i heard the another orientation wil starts end of july /august.is tht true??????nw am really worrying abt .i already passd d test 2 mnths back....and if thy hiring end of july /augusts too delayed for me.am worrying .........hwz their interview nd all......?????

They interview any time so just call the nurse recruiter there and schedule an interview. Their orientation for nurses is once a month I believe. I know mine is scheduled for August 11th. I believe the July one is also for sometime in the middle of the month. They don't only hire during the orientations, they may still be hiring. Call and find out! Good luck!

I live in Philly, and was shocked from reading these posts that it seems very common for nurses in NY w/the BSN to get paid more than someone w/their ASN for a staff nurse position. We don't have that here (at least not that I know of!) However there are certain hospitals that only hire nurses w/their BSN.

Nurse Practitioner/Education Specialist/Clinician:
Up to $7,500 additional for 10 years most recent experience; ($7,600 effective 1/09; $7,700 effective 1/10); $1,000 for BSN ($1,300 effective 1/09) (clinical nurse), $1,200 for Masters ($1,500 effective 1/09) (clinical nurse), $1,500 for Doctorate ($1,700 effective 1/09), shift differential $5,400, ($5,850 effective 1/09); certification award $1,250; ($2,200 effective 1/09); preceptor pay of $18.75/shift ($23.50 effective 1/09) and charge pay of $2.50/hr ($3.00/hr effective 7/10).
Across the board increases: 3% 1/2009; 3% 1/2010

I think Philly is moving towards this trend. HUP and PA hosp recently starting hiring BSN grad only. I think it has something to do with HUP getting magnet status.
