Just thought I'd say that! First we have to complete our pre-reqs. Then we have to turn in a "checklist" saying we meet all these requirements (prereqs mostly). THEN they have to approve the checklist before we can get an application. Then they take people on a first come first served basis, so my question is, why the extra step? If they know you meet the requirements and they don't look at grades or anything, why not just do either the checklist OR the application. I find it annoying! In any case, I have an appointment this morning to get an application, because they approved my checklist. I hope at least I can fill out the thing while I'm there . . . surely they didn't make an appointment for me just to hand it to me .
Anyway, wish me luck, at the most I should have an answer in a couple of weeks! I really thought it was a long shot to get in for the fall since I just finished prereqs but it's looking good at this point!

Good luck!!!
Thanks! As it turns out, they basically did give me an appointment just to hand me the application. They have all these wacky rules - it has to be mailed and can't be brought to the campus. It has to be in an 8 1/2" X 11 manilla folder or they will send it back! LOL I find this all a bit much. But I really want in, so I'm going to the post office today to overnight it!

We had to meet with a counselor who had to go over our application and then verify that we had completed our prereqs every time we apply. I had to apply 3 times before I got in - our school admits based on lottery.

Hey Kelly,
Yes, there are so weird rules to follow, but it will be that way from now on. The whole point for this is to see if you know how to follow directions. Unsurprisingly, there are some out there who don't!!
At my school, you have to see an advisor to take the NET test, then go back to show that you passed it, then go see them to get an okay to go pick up an application, THEN get the application, get it filled out CORRECTLY, then bring it back. Once you get accepted, it starts all over. You have a packet that must be filled out correctly, brought or sent back and on and on!!!
Unfortunately, if you miss filling out the application the exact way that it is supposed to be done, they throw it out, no matter how good you grades are! Every i must be dotted and every t must be crossed!!!
Anyway, good luck on your application and acceptance, and let us know if you make it!!!

Yup, the college that wanted to attend did the same thing. They had a checklist, and then after all that, you STILL didn't know if you were gonna get in, not to mention the wait list. So I decided to go to a smaller school. Hopefully, I get in!
Yeah, I figured . . . I have to admit the whole process made me paranoid about forgetting something! I kept checking and rechecking to make sure I didn't leave something out! Anyway, I'm supposed to hear in just a couple of weeks, wish me luck!

At my school you have to turn in a prerequiste verification sheet ( I'm guessing thats the same thing) and then you get you application and then they pick your name out of a hat or something! I don't think I like the whole lottery idea (unless they pick me i guess :) )

Yowza....I'm glad my school wasn't like that. They accept people with bachelors to people that just graduated high school. All you did was submit an application, 3 recommendations, an essay, your transcripts (you do not have to finish pre-req's to apply) and from there they set you up for a test. You pass the test, which you have 2 times to pass, then you pay for a criminal background check. Once you pass the background check then they will decide if you are accepted or not.
Pretty straight forward. The only caveat is you can ONLY apply once. If you are not accepted you can NEVER apply again. No waiting lists, no lottery, no first come first serve. Just the luck of the draw.

I agree. Although ours is first come first served, I've worked my butt off for good grades and I have no idea why! Just obsessive, I think. Hoping some day it will matter when I go for my BSN or continue on from there!
