Multiple schools for Prereqs

Published

Has anyone gone to multiple schools to fulfill their prereqs? I am wanting to enroll into another community college online to do my A&P classes. The one I've been doing the bulk of my prereqs at splits the A&P classes up and I don't like that since it will take longer to complete... Unless people can take anatomy and physiology, split up, at the same time? I'll have to get with the school to see if it's feasible.

I went to 6 different community colleges to take my prerequisite classes. I went where ever there was a space available. It didn't affect me at all when I applied to nursing programs.

Good luck finding an A&P class that is not split up and for good reason: Anatomy and Physiology is a lot of material to cover. You're asking to cover two semesters of material in one, not one semester in a couple weeks like summer classes do. I don't know of any schools that don't split A&P 1&2 into two semesters. Just do them seperately. Better to do them right the first time than to rush and screw it up. :)

as long as your courses are transferable (A&P shouldn't be an issue there) then it's no issue. My only problem was that my PE class (only a pre req for ONE of the schools I am applying) doesn't transfer to the school that requires it....sooo I am pretty annoyed that I have to take a PE class again (I took it way back when right after I graduated from highschool and didn't have a clue what I was going to school for lol)

with any luck I will get into the other program on an early application and it won't be an issue and I won't have to take it again lol

I'm not talking about splitting A&P 1 and 2. I'm saying one class is anatomy, and then another class is physiology. That's how I mean they are split.

Yeah, I didn't have to take that because I am army and they just waive that for us.

I'm taking them at more than one school, and they only offer A and P as separate classes, not 1 and 2.

A & P are split up at my school as well. Completion of anatomy is the prerequisite for enrolling in physiology so no, they couldn't be taken concurrently. Check your course catalog.

(Oops, duplicate post!)

I took most of my science courses at one community college & then one chemistry course at another community college. I would call your school & see what they expect/accept.

Well, if A&P I is a semester and A&P II is a semester then it will take the same amount of time to take them as separate courses. Was that your concern, or do you have a different concern?

I've gone to three different ones. :)
