This may have already been posted as I didnt read the entire thread---but it doesnt really matter what any one posts because unless you live in that area of the poster it doesnt matter.
I make 27.5 an hour --yet hosp in your area may pay 22.00 an hour--are you going to pack up/buy a house and move here?? Prob not.
Some will say they make 50.00 an hour and we will ohh and ahh at that figure---yet how much is thier house payment? How much are they paying for a gallon of milk? Do they have a big yard with lots of trees or are they haveing to live in an apt?
Nursing is not, has never been a job where you "can get rich" but you can live comfortably. I can live comfortably just off my 27.75 an hour as the ones who make 19.50---prob just as comfortable as the ones who make 38.5. It depends on the location-cost of living-etc etc etc

I am an RN working in Maryland and I made alittle over $100,000 this year with overtime. I think that is awesome for a nurse with a 2 year degree.

$15/hr. as an RN doing assessments for one of our State's Medicaid programs.
As the raise I was promised nine months ago never materialized (along with many other things), I have an interview scheduled with a private homecare agency on January 9th.

yeah I am not planning on relocating because some places pay more because most pay more because the cost of living is higher at that location, I am just curious :)

I work several facilities per diem because the pay is usually a bit better and I can set my own schedule too.
LTC #1 - $ 35.00 per diem no differential
LTC #2 - $ 31.67 per diem, + $ 1.50 for second shift, + $ 3.00 for third shift
Agency - depends on type of visit anywhere between $ 30-42 hour
As an LPN working med-surg in a hospital I started off in 2003 at $ 14.65 hour. Ended in 2008 at $ 18.00.
As a CNA in LTC $ 10.25 ( in 1999 )
As a CNA in hospital $ 10.35 ( in 2000 )
Upper Midwest.
New grad RNs in hospitals start out at $ 22.35 to $ 23.00 per hour.
