  1. I'm doing it because it is something I enjoy, if I dont get into med school, I'll at least have a nursing career to fall back on instead of a chem/bio degree...
  2. oops didn't think of that! thanks :)
  3. has anyone done this? It is what I'm interested in doing.
  4. Keep looking, good things come to those who wait, keep looking online too, and like the other posters said, call HR. I have ran into plenty of really rude receptionists at LTC facilities, I dont understand why they are so rude and nasty on the phone and in person. I am the type of person who is really sensitive about people being rude to me and it will bother me for days. I get over it eventually though.
  5. happy hanakuh!! My boyfriend is jewish so I will be celebrating it this year, I was raised muslim though.
  6. thanks guys :)
  7. Does anyone here work as a Casual? Whats it like, do you like it? How many hours do you/can you work per week? is it your only job? I interviewed to work at a Psychiatric Institution (WPIC) as a Casual and the RN told me that there is always a need for casuals to pick up shifts at that hospital. I dont have any other job I am a student 3 days a week.
  8. they told me HR should get in touch with me within a week and if they dont call me then i should go ahead and call them. the interview went pretty well.
  9. you are very rude! All i did was ask for some help from people who have experience. I just found out about this interview 2 days ago! I know all about autism and what the children are like but I just wanted some words of wisdom from someone who has experience. I totally didn't expect someone to be rude on this forum i signed up about a week ago thinking I can get some kind help and support about nursing and I have gotten a lot of help since I have been here. It's ok I wont let one rude person on this forum ruin it for me. If you are going to be rude just don't reply to the thread at all.
  10. any tips? I'll be working with children with Autism if i get hired, anyone have experience with that? thanks
  11. yes that would be extremely helpful, I live in Allegheny county. :heartbeat
  12. thanks, i got your pm too, very helpful, i applied to every CNA/NA job i could find on there haha!
  13. i am trying to get a job as an aid while going to CCAC but i am not certified as an aid, hopefully i will get a job at a hospital that will train me, i dont have the money to get certified
