This is a new thread for anyone that has applied to the Mount St. Mary's College Accelerated BSN program in Los Angeles for 2010 entry.
This is my second application for admission since I wasn't offered admission for Fall 2009. Did anyone hear anything back yet for Spring 2010? Is there an interview process? I have read conflicting information on this topic. I also applied to Samuel Merritt in the Bay Area (also turned down twice to 2 programs for Fall 2009 entry). They wont be sending out admission offers until February for March start dates!! Would love to hear from fellow nursing school hopefuls )
Good luck to all you!!

Hello fellow applicants,
I have also applied for the 2010 Fall cohort. My situation is similar to Paul's, in that I am finishing up my Microbiology and a Philosophy class this semester. So these are my last "in progress" courses. I also currently volunteer at HMH. Small world, aye?
Anyways, nice to meet all of you and good luck to us all.
@Paul Per the course website, I don't think you have to give the presentation, just create a powerpoint presentation along with the paper. However, lots of reading and many weekly assignments.
Regarding interviews - I was told last cohort that they interview everyone that is qualified. However, I was never interviewed and had Micro and Physio in progress at that time. Now that I everything is done, I'm hoping that I do at least get to that stage.
I just checked the "My Documents" folder in webadvisor, and my profile now says:
Transfer Credit Eval Update
Received
04/26/10
Advising
hopefully that's a good indicator...
Btw sugarlips, is there any way that you could please resend me the link for the Seattle ethics course? I thought that I bookmarked it, but apparently I didn't.
Hi everyone! I also applied for Fall 2010, and I talked to an advisor the other day and she said things usually get updated on webadvisor every 4 weeks so that's probably why it changes so infrequently.
Paul, when I went to the information session they said when you have the main science courses in progress than that's usually a deterrent in your application. I know people that have gotten in with two or more pre-reqs in progress that weren't the main science courses. Although, there is a new cohort every semester so things change!
Good luck to everyone! Please post if you hear anything about an interview, I read on previous posts people saying they weren't going to do interviews this year? Not sure, but if you get one please post!
Yes, I applied last cohort, but wasn't interviewed. At the time of application I had Micro and Physio in progress. I'm hoping the fact that I got an A in both will help me in this next go around and my continued volunteering at Cedars Sinai. My GPA from my previous degree, when I finished in 1994, was awful, so if I don't get in I'm blaming it on that.
has anyone gotten in with one science course in progress? oh man, if i dont get in that'll probably be why...
@sugarlips, i looked in my private messages folder, but i dont see the message from you am i looking in the wrong place?
you're starting your class on 5/34 right? how long do you have to complete it? has MSMC already approved it as the upper division bioethics course?
