This is a new thread for anyone that has applied to the Mount St. Mary's College Accelerated BSN program in Los Angeles for 2010 entry.
This is my second application for admission since I wasn't offered admission for Fall 2009. Did anyone hear anything back yet for Spring 2010? Is there an interview process? I have read conflicting information on this topic. I also applied to Samuel Merritt in the Bay Area (also turned down twice to 2 programs for Fall 2009 entry). They wont be sending out admission offers until February for March start dates!! Would love to hear from fellow nursing school hopefuls )
Good luck to all you!!

Hi everyone. I too am an applicant for Fall 2010 entry in the Acc BSN program at Mount Saint Marys. My webadvisor says the same thing as yours....that it is in review. I spoke with someone over the phone a few days ago and they said that within 2 weeks to a month they will send out letters to those who are simply rejected for admission and letters to those notifying them that they have been requested for an interview. The admissions member whom I had an over the phone call with said that people with GPA's of 3.4 and above are considered to be competitive. She also said that they put alot of weight on the personal statement. Not sure why writing a personal statement letter is weighted as that important but oh well. I hate this waiting part. ITS HORRIBLE!!!!
That's a tremendous relief.
I know that MSMC recommends quitting your job, but I currently work at Huntington memorial hospital in Pasadena and I'm tempted to keep my job just so I have an "in" once I'm done with school (assuming I get in).
I wonder how difficult it would be working ONE day a month while in the program...
To all Fall 2010 MSMC ACC BSN applicants. Let me know who you are, and introduce yourself to me so we can get to know eachother. I was reading the thread from students who were applying and were admitted to the May starting cohort. They seemed to have a great circle of people who were helping and supporting eachother during this stressful time. It would be nice to be able to have updates from one another.
I was reading about what other students were saying regarding the bioethics course. I don't know if it is worth chancing enrolling in the June course if we haven't received work of admission for Fall 2010? Is anyone going to enroll in that class?

Just found another class that is accepted by MSMC to fulfill the Bioethics requirement. It is given through North Seattle's Virtual College. Cost is $1265 for non-residents and it is given 6/18 - 8/20/10 by T. Kearns. I just wrote the instructor for a syllabus to get an idea of what makes up this 5 credit class. However, I did get confirmation from MSMC that this class does meet the requirement. Sign-up begins 5/24/10.
