This is a new thread for anyone that has applied to the Mount St. Mary's College Accelerated BSN program in Los Angeles for 2010 entry.
This is my second application for admission since I wasn't offered admission for Fall 2009. Did anyone hear anything back yet for Spring 2010? Is there an interview process? I have read conflicting information on this topic. I also applied to Samuel Merritt in the Bay Area (also turned down twice to 2 programs for Fall 2009 entry). They wont be sending out admission offers until February for March start dates!! Would love to hear from fellow nursing school hopefuls )
Good luck to all you!!
Betsy
What would you do?
Hey everyone, I got accepted into Concordia Irvines's ABSN. I already had to pay the $500 deposit and will soon have to enroll for 6 units worth of theology classes this summer at the school, starting May 31st. I don't have a choice--MSMC doesnt give word till AFTER CUI's summer classes start. I called MSMC and they told me that i could ask for a rush response if/when I get an interview.
My question for you is: Would you go to MSMC or CUI? CUI is ~35K (tuition & books) while MSMC is ~53K. CUI's nursing program is only been in existence for 2-3 years, and I would be of the 3rd or 4th cohort i believe, whereas MSMC's ABSN program itself is highly acclaimed and has been around since 1993.
Thank ya for any thoughts!
I would take the cheaper program because a) you've already been accepted (and you're already $500 committed, even though it's not THAT much) and b) it's cheaper.
I know csun has an absn program. If I was there, I could live on campus and pay for the program for less than msmc's tuition.
What do you want to do? Ultimately, it's your decision.
The suspense is killing me! Can't MSMC put up our of our misery already? I am so nervous because every seems to have different bits of information regarding what makes a strong application or not.
Who has applied to MSMC fall 2010 that still have courses in progress? I have micro and the religion class in progress which seems to not be a very good sign according to all of you but have all A's in all of my other science pre req's along with a relatively strong gpa.
Who is taking the summer Taylor University Bioethics course? Seattle one?
I'm currently taking micro and religious studies. I have gotten a's in all science prereqs except for anatomy (I got a b). Hopefully working at a hospital for 3.5 years will give me some sort of advantage to compensate for my b in anatomy. My bachelors degree GPA was 3.4.
I've got my fingers crossed..

@Paul - I'll send you the link again for the classes. In the meantime go to North Seattle Community College's website to find out enrollment information. Enrollment starts on 5/24. I just got my PIN and other enrollment email information a couple of days ago so it does take some time.
I did get the ok from MSMC that they will accept the class for the Bioethics. I saved that email to cover myself. It seems I only get certain questions answered. I'm happy that I got the class approved. Good luck!
