Mount Sinai PSON ABSN Fall 2021

Starting the thread since I could only find Summer 2021z Has anyone applied to and/or gotten an admission decision from Mount Sinai PSON for their ABSN program starting Fall 2021? Where else did you apply? Share stats if comfortable, you know the drill! Thanks!

I took both before I came to PSON. For those that didn’t take it, it had to be taken in the first semester along with three other nursing courses. Many of my classmates that were taking path, pharm, or both were miserable, and more than 20 students ended up failing out of the program.

Oh wow. I’m taking ethics & nutrition right now & I don’t think I’ll be able to take either of them & complete it before July. I’m actually not sure what to do at this point. Most programs don’t have patho and pharm in the same semester

Some people in the program say it’s doable to finish in about a month on portage learning

Does anyone have previous syllabi’s from path and pharm?

OMG yes if any previous or current students have the syllabus for ALL the courses can you please attach a link to them or PM?!!

Understandable. I filled out a form that said I won’t be taking those courses elsewhere. I might have to email him tomorrow to ask if I’m still eligible to take at least one of them outside of PSON

@yschon - thanks for visiting this forum as a current PSON student. Hope we don't pepper you with too many questions as we eagerly await our decisions!

To be clear: if you take Path/Pharm beforehand, you can't test out of taking them once at PSON, right? So you're recommending taking them beforehand via Portage or another online school in order to be better equipped once starting the program - am I understanding correctly? Or, are you saying that if we take them via Portage, we can then fulfill that requirement in order to avoid taking them at the same time as three other courses in our first semester?

@FutureRN100000I'd love to see that syllabus myself. Could you send it to [email protected]? If I can't take the class through Portage Learning this Summer, I might at least begun studying independently... Thank you!

Oh wow, part of passing the class is taking and passing the HESI exam? am I getting this right from the syllabus?
