  1. Apparently the trick works... ? No email, but the was an update on the portal.
  2. Hi, I got a username and can login, but I did not receive an email. Is this a verified trick?
  3. Yes, 96 or even 196 YO. I am not arguing that this is a good idea. When there is scientifically no hope, the family should definitely be made aware of the difficult reality. However, we respect all cultures whether or not we understand them. Would you simply disrespect patients’ cultures whenever you don’t understand them? Would you disrespect Asian culture when it makes no sense to you? Would you disrespect LGBTQ people if you didn’t understand them? How about a culture that believes in keeping someone on a vent? Is that any different? No one should be judged for sticking to their cultural beliefs.
  4. Would you mind sharing what Mount Sinai Brooklyn offered?
  5. Thanks! Do you know which hospitals pay more? What about Mount Sinai, Maimonides, and community hospital? which hospitals in Brooklyn pay the most?
  6. Hi, Does anyone mind sharing what RNs get in Brooklyn.
  7. I got Cherokee Workwear, and the color was hunter green.
  8. For our cohort we were able to buy scrubs from anywhere as long as the color was similar. Many people got Figs, but for those of us that don’t own a money tree, I would recommend Cherokee workware. Again, this is how it was for our cohort, so make sure that you can do the same before you start buying.
  9. Hi, I'm a BSN student on track to graduate in December. I would like to continue schooling and become a nurse practitioner. I would be interested in FNP or PMHNP, but I haven't decided which one yet. I know that experience of working as an RN is important, but I'd like to start doing my research on schools already. I was wondering if anyone can recommend any nurse practitioner programs in New York City or New Jersey area. I know that not every school is the best, so I would appreciate if I can get some opinions from people who have personal experience. Thank you!
  10. Hey, I’m a current student at PSON. They haven’t told us anything about the format of next semester’s classes, but one of you mentioned hybrid. Is this something that they mentioned to you guys? Did they mention anything at all? Thanks!
  11. I thinks that it’s self explanatory, but I can... Even though, in certain instances, many of us might believe that the correct or compassionate thing to do is to let a patient die, many people might have cultural beliefs which disagree. As we all should have learned in school, there are many cultures, and everyone is entitled to practice their own, in their own way, without judgment. let me ask you, is bringing flowers to a grave logical? Do you think a dead person can see or smell them? Of course they can’t, but that doesn’t mean that it’s a waste of money. People can make personal decisions which makes sense to them, even if it is article to others. There are many cultures that value life even after a patient is brain dead. Even thought this may seem illogical to some, it shows respect of the patient to others. Family members have the right to allow their loved ones to remain alive, regardless of the life support needed. I am not coming to say that every single patient should be left on a ventilator forever, and I am not denying that sometimes healthcare providers must awaken patients to the reality that their loved ones will never wake up, and now is a good time to let them go. I am simply saying that families have the right to keep their loved ones alive regardless of the extent of incapacity. This is still a reasonable option, even though some of us don’t understand it.
  12. That is your opinion, and someone with that view would have the right to make such a decision for a loved one. However, others might object and value life even when someone is long brain dead, and that decision is theirs. It’s the USA; we are all entitled to our opinions and religious/ethical beliefs. My argument is not about spending government money.
  13. I believe that there is a HESI exit exam, but I’m not there yet, so I wouldn’t know. I personally use the Saunders book. I think that it’s great for last minute (or day) reviews before exams.
  14. Thank you! Do you know if the same is true for outpatient nursing. Would NP programs consider nurses that worked out patient less than they would consider nurses with hospital experience
  15. This is for the BSN students, but the HESI exam that you take is specific to the course that you are taking. For instance, if you are taking med surg and OB/peds in one semester, you will take the HESI practice questions and exam for medsurge and OB/peds. (Two separate HESI exams)
