Mount Sinai ABSN Summer 2020

Has anyone applied to and/or gotten an admission decision from Mount Sinai PSON for the ABSN program starting Summer 2020?

I think that they extended the deadline because of COVID-19 actually, so I'm sure they will review your application still.

I have my interview next week and will report back on how it went, I am curious as well and have questions for them regarding the program since there wasn't much that I could find of people posting about prior experiences.

Where did you find the information about being unorganized? I know they are moving to a newer location and wonder if that could be the cause. This is also one of my top choices but I am concerned with the unorganized since these programs already seem to be stressful, would prefer a solid foundation.

LIU Brooklyn accepted me, but I haven't responded yet because they are also highly unorganized and every time I talk to someone I feel like I get different answers?

Just to let you all know, accelerated programs by nature, will almost always be unorganized. No matter where you go, just prepare for this in advance if you can.

I found out today I was accepted through email! I never heard anything or had to go on an interview. Can't wait to start the program in August!

Hi @MAH717. CONGRATS to you! When did you apply? I was told it’s a fall start now. Did they say it’s been changed back to Summer ?

Also if you can please share your background, grades, experience, etc?

I applied for Summer start but that's been pushed to fall start. I submitted my application a few days before the deadline of feb 1st. I currently work at Memorial Sloan Kettering, so my recommendation came from a doctor I work closely with. I got my undergrad degree at SUNY New Paltz and then took prerequisites at Laguardia Community College and got all A's in the prereqs!

I’m afraid that it’s going to be more competitive for the fall applicants. My worry is that there are not as many spots in this combined Summer/ fall cohort as there would be in two separate Summer and fall cohorts and since they are reviewing applicants who applied for Summer first, the fall applicants have less of a chance. Am I overthinking this and creating my own anxiety for no reason??

I was told there isn’t a Summer program at all. I only had the option to apply for the fall. I feel like we’re all hearing different things. On Monday I will clarify with the school.

For anyone who has submitted their application,

Where do we mail our official high school transcripts? On NursingCAS I see their is an option to upload your hs transcripts, but I'm assuming that would be unofficial.

Also, as far as the BLS requirement, what if you do not have it at the moment? What do we submit because the requirements say that it must be completed prior to the start date but not at the time of submitting the application.

Help! LOL this is the last part of my application I'm stuck on.
