Hey everyone! Just wanted to create a place for potential Motlow Nursing students for fall 2014 to converse, ask questions, and get to know each other. Anyone out there? If so, which campus do you hope to attend? I live near Lavergne, so Smyrna campus will be my home base.
For those of you who have questions about the process over the next 6 months, I went through all of the application/acceptance/orientation/etc steps last year, but had to withdraw 3 weeks before classes started due to a financial aid fiasco...so I know what's to come and would be glad to clarify anything for you.
Good luck to everyone and hope to be meeting you all this summer!
Thanks for the tips. I'll definitely invest in the Success books.I'm very fortunate to have a fully supportive husband who'll be bearing the financial weight while I'm in the program, so I won't have to share my study time with a part-time job. I already have it in my head that school will be all-consuming and I will have no life for the next 2 years...lol.
Question: I saw in another thread that you primarily use your Macbook for note-taking and everything else; do you have all e-books as well? If so, how does that work as far as the 'no electronics in clinicals' rule? I remember them stating that in orientation last year, so I'm leery of purchasing e-books over the real thing for fear that I may need my tablet/laptop at a time when they're not allowed.
I don't use ebooks, hate them. I like to sell my books when I'm finished with them (they will all be for sell in a few weeks, lol).. I have never used books during clinical other than my drug book first year, some people will bring their lab books to clinical, but I have never once needed mine. I primarily need my books for the paperwork when I get home. I like to travel light :). After first yr, I bought the davis drug guide for my iPhone and use that app instead of the drug book.
I don't know why my friend's advisor said the end of May. From what I've heard from my advisor they always notify by email in April- last week of April at the latest. Maybe the letters go out end of May?? I just want to know if I get in or not! The waiting around is awful
My 'letter' was included (or maybe it was attached) to the emai.

Again, I was told by the interim DON that she HOPED to have the emails out by the end of the first week of April. I was told this by her in mid-Jan.
