I'm a new LPN and just started my orientation in LTC. I've been trying to find a list somewhere with the most common geriatric meds, so I can get to know these better. So far, I haven't had time to do it at work. Does anyone know of a site that lists these? Or can name some off the top of your head? Otherwise I can try to jot some down at work, and look em up later, but I'd love to get some info on my off-time. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks :)

Colace, exelon patches, percocet, ultram, bp meds (beta blockers, acei, etc), digoxin, lipitor, cipro, bactrim, flagyl, lidocaine patches, flomax, detrol, avodart, potassium, milk of magnesia, ativan, oxycodone, ambien. Hope this helps. You'll find that for the most part you will give the same ones over and over. We have four different doctors, they each have their favorites. Good luck at your new job!

People who have nothing to contribute to the OP why don't you move along instead of telling people to look for old threads. What is it to you?
To the OP you got some helpful answers I am happy to see....all the memory enhancing meds, atypical antipsychotics, medications for constipation, and all the medications for all the co-morbidities we see in seniors....DM, HTN, CHF, CAD, OP, OA, UI to name a few.
