If you'd like to earn $250,000 yearly in a healthcare profession, become a physician.

I'd love to earn $250K every year since we all need more money, but my LVN license doesn't realistically have that degree of earning power.

For now, my wild fantasies of living in the lap of luxury will suffice.

Seriously, chances are you won't be making that kind of money as a nurse. If you do find a job making that, be sure to let all of us know. I wouldn't mind making 250K a year myself.:eek:

* icu, midwifery, paediatrics, cardiac or, telemetry, nicu, picu and infection control.

qualifications required:

• bachelor degree in nursing or equivalent qualification of not less than 3 years study duration from an accredited program

•valid current national licence desired

•continuous post graduate courses

•bls, acls, pals relevant to area of speciality

experience

•not less than 4 years experience postgraduate in an acute care tertiary hospital.

•not less than 2 years experience as charge nurse in a particular unit

•positive written references or verbal references which must identify specific responsibilities as a charge nurse

salary & benefits

•accommodation provided free of charge for the duration of your orientation, accommodation allowance provided there after.

•free utilities (except for long distance telephone calls)

•2 year contract

•single / married contract

•education allowance (for children up to 18 years)

•48 hour working week (rotating 4 on 4 off)

i have a brother working in the middle east - makes a very comfortable living :) i admit i've thought about it (i mean, 35,000 euros works out to about $55,000.... and you get to keep all of it as it is tax free!). yes, it's not 250,000 a year... but 55,000 tax free dollars is nothing to laugh at either.

not all places in the "middle east" are as "conservative" like saudi arabia, iran or iraq. dubai, bahrain/manama are quite liberal.

four 12 hour shifts a week for 55K/yr? Yes, I understand it is tax free but I could make 80K/year at my current job working before taxes which works out to approximately the same. Yes, I would have to pay for housing but I hear that the "free housing" they give you in these jobs ain't that great and sometimes you have to share the apartment with another person.

Also, one could find travel nursing jobs with free housing making about the same. No thanks.

I'm not sure what the situation is in Dubai, but I would be VERY cautious working overseas as a nurse. In a lot of countries the "nurse" is someone that does bed baths and cleans rooms. Our tech's here do more than nurses in some countries, as in some places the doc's do everything from vitals to meds. Just something to keep in mind and research hard before signing a contract.....

I belive you can make a lot of money in the United States as Nurse. but you will have to work 12 hour shifts for six days and you must make at least 45.00 an hour.
