IM applying Spring 2018 for the MJC ADN program. Who else is applying?
I just came from the office and asked how many people they put on the waitlist, she said out of the 120 applicants, 40 are selected for fall and 40 for spring and the rest are on the waitlist. For acceptance, we will get emails and if are on the waitlist and get picked, we will get a phone call.
Hey Angie_p did they tell you how many will be picked for the Columbia program?
I believe only 120 were chosen to for documentation cause usually they get about 500 aplicants. Thom_m I applied with 67 points. Are you going to Columbia too? if so how many points did you apply with?
I am attending Columbia currently and was accepted with 74 points. I found this helpful info from an MJC applicant thread from last year:
"The 120 applicants for the MJC campus with the highest points will be selected to provide supporting documentation and the 40 applicants for the Columbia College campus with the highest points will be selected to provide supporting documentation. Eighty students will be selected for the MJC campus and 20 students for the Columbia College campus. Students will then be randomized for the fall and spring semesters. A randomized selection process will be used to prioritize students with tied points."
Yes, that's what I was told. She said the I.T. guys once the documents are approved, will categorize everyone from highest to lowest points 80 for MJC and 20 for Columbia. The remaining will go on the waitlist. She did say for those on the waitlist to not give up since many students very year drop for what ever reason when its time to start. Wait listed people are usually notified around October or so. Anyones status on their application change? I am so anxious!
caro27, are you sure that their status was changed to "accepted" and not "processing application"? If it was, that would be a pretty huge glitch on I.T.'s part. Acceptance and/or waitlist status isn't supposed to be offered to anyone until July 12th. The deadline for supporting documents hasn't even passed yet. Granted, the online app has been glitchy this year so I guess anything's possible lol :-)
