MJC 2018 Spring application
Actually there seems to be misinformation going around. I'm currently in the program at Columbia and have completed 1st semester. We had 2 girls in my cohort that lived in Modesto and were allowed to (and would periodically) attend lecture in Modesto. For the most part though they would come to the Columbia campus for lectures because we all became very close and they liked attending lecture and being able to go to skills lab afterwards with our cohort. Also first semester they were required to attend skills lab at Columbia because our clinical instructor was here in Sonora and that's where clincal are first semester.

MJC 2018 Spring application
You can attend lecture and take exams at the Modesto campus even if you are accepted into the Columbia program.

MJC 2018 Spring application
You can attend lecture in Modesto and take tests there but you have to come to Columbia for skills lab, which 1st semester is every Monday and Tuesday until clinicals start. Not sure about additional semesters.

So caro were you told that everyone who was requested to submit documentation and isn't immediately accepted goes on the waitlist?

MJC 2018 Spring application
I am attending Columbia currently and was accepted with 74 points. I found this helpful info from an MJC applicant thread from last year: "The 120 applicants for the MJC campus with the highest points will be selected to provide supporting documentation and the 40 applicants for the Columbia College campus with the highest points will be selected to provide supporting documentation. Eighty students will be selected for the MJC campus and 20 students for the Columbia College campus. Students will then be randomized for the fall and spring semesters. A randomized selection process will be used to prioritize students with tied points."

Caro27 can I ask how many points you're applying with?

MJC 2018 Spring application
They choose 10 for Fall and 10 for Spring for Columbia. Angie, did Kendis tell you only 120 people applied total, or that 120 were asked for supporting documentation?

MJC 2018 Spring application
Anyone applying to the Columbia satellite program and would like to share with how many points? I'm currently in the program and will be graduating fall 2019 so I'm asking for friends! Historically the point cut off for Columbia has been a good amount lower than MJC, however last year it was the same!

Pregnant: Take a semester off or power through?
Hello there! I am currently pregnant with my first child, and in my first semester of a 4 semester nursing program (ADN). I am currently 20 weeks pregnant and in my 4th week of the program. The program semester ends in mid December, and I am due February 2nd. The plan has been to finish fall semester, take off spring semester, and re-enter with a new cohort the following fall (this has been okayed with the school). There are only 10 of us in my cohort (we have a satellite program through a larger school), so I have already become very close with my group. A few of us got to talking and they asked if I considered powering through and staying in the program for spring semester (which starts January 8th). I hadn't really considered it before, but I've been considering it now, as my husband and I have a great support system (eager to babysit grandparents and family members), and I've heard of new moms powering through, pumping during breaks, etc. and I would love to finish the program sooner rather than later... I'm wondering if anyone has experience powering through with a *new* newborn (specifically during second semester) and what that was like? What are the pros and cons? I would only have to power through until April 28th, and then I would have the summer off with baby....On the flip side, I'm also wondering if anyone has taken a semester off (plus summer) and how difficult was it to jump back into school after taking that time off? I'm leaning toward taking a semester off but any input or advice is greatly appreciated!

MJC Spring 2017 Applicants
I will be applying to the Columbia campus this May with 74 points. I got an 83.3 on the TEAS but I've only taken it once...I met with a counselor and she told me the low for MJC campus for Fall 2016 was 72 points, and for Columbia (I believe) it was 66 or 68....I've noticed a few people saying they plan to apply to the Columbia campus because the lowest they have accepted in the past has been a few points behind MJC, however there are only 10 spots for the Columbia campus vs (I believe) 40 for the MJC campus each semester? Good luck to everyone!

CSU Stanislaus ASBSN 2015
Hello there! I'm not sure if anyone is actively viewing this thread but I am very interested in applying for this program in 2017 after I finish my science prerequisites at my local junior college (mid-life career change!) :) I was wondering if anyone could give any insight on an average score regarding how many admissions points accepted applicants usually have? Average overall GPA, as well as science only and non-science gpa averages? Most of the information I'm finding regarding acceptance averages is for the standard nursing program and not the ASBSN program, which I believe might be slightly less competitive? ANY insight at all would be so appreciated! :)
