Hey all,
While looking at information for the Modesto Junior College RN program I came across an awesome thread on here for the 2018 application period. It was great to read through and see how much they motivated each other. It gives us an opportunity to stress together and bond while waiting to see if we get in. I am hoping to make a successful thread for those of us ready to apply in May.
Best of luck to all

Nothing fancy. I stapled the pieces that went together then paperclipped the packet. Make sure you have your application summary. That is where they’ll double check and initial that you have everything.

Nursesrule7 - I believe documentation approved is what they use when documents have been verified.
If you’re selected it will be accepted for fall or accepted for spring

Callmepri- I don’t think 71 will be the cutoff. That is the cutoff for those selected to provide supporting documentation. This includes those that will be on the alternate list. The cutoff to get accepted will be higher.

That will be point based. Once all that have documents approved are in order, they will re-evaluate points. They do this because maybe someone with high points won’t have appropriate documentation or maybe someone fibbed on their application and become disqualified. So out of those qualified on the MJC campus, the top 80 will be accepted and then the computer will randomly assign you to fall or spring semester. The same will go for Columbia, but they have their own pool of people.

I believe this is correct, 71 will be the cut off for people invited to provide documentation but the ones accepted will be higher. I know its a little confusing on how they select their candidates but here is an insert from the allied health page:
"Initially 120 applicants for the MJC campus and the 40 applicants for the Columbia College campus with the highest points will be selected to provide supporting documentation. The final pool will consist of 80 students for the MJC campus and 20 students for the Columbia College campus."

I don't mind at all. getting your documents approved does not mean you're in. my documents where approved but my points only landed me in the alternate/wait list. I was not selected from that list. I didn't waste my year though, I managed to collect some extra points along the way. ? We will see how this year goes. Best of luck to us all.
