Midwestern State University spring 2015 hopeful

Published

I have finally gotten everything situated with my classes and GPA to FINALLYYYY apply! I am sending in my application this week, just finished up my chem class with a B thank god. I have a 3.0 GPA for my prerequisites and about 60 to 63 points. What do you think my chances are for getting in? When I talked to my advisor she said if I got a B in chem then I should have no problem but my worrying self doesn't want to wait that long to see. And how long did it take for a response. Application deadline is August 15th. Any helpful advise would be appreciated!!

Also I did my fingerprints but I have yet to get a blue card but I was accepted I did my finger prints the first week they could be done. I have moved recently I wonder if it was sent to the wrong address! Oh no! I dont know what to do about that!

@brittward I would recommend calling the office that you got your background check done and then go from there! I'm not really sure if we need to physically show WSON our blue cards but just in case we do, it would be best to avoid any problems that'll stop you from beginning the program! Maybe you could also go to your last address and ask for any mail in your name? The post-office may just be holding onto it for you... Did you fill out a form to have all your mail forwarded to your new address for a year?

Hello...........have you receive your total points ??

Yes, I have 73 points and I am #15 on the list of applicants.

@breonab You have taken the lecture for Assessment also? that counts as 3 hours for lecture and clincal for assessment. I am in the same boat on needing filler classes. Although I am lucky to already attend so I have signed up my schedule is Monday assessment lecture from 1p to 3:50, Assessment clincals Thursdays 8a to 10a, Spanish 2, MTWR 11a to 11:50, Advanced oral expressions or spanish majors TR 12:30p to 1:50, and Medical Terminology online. That is 13 hours. It will be difficult but I HAVE to stay a full time student. the Medical terminology class is a 3 hr class and it will be useful for the program but not required and its online (: I am ready for the nursing orientation and official letters! I have checked my email daily but I have gotten nothing. As far as apartments go, I would suggest looking for small studio apartments too! I live in one it is just me and my dog since my husband lived elsewhere for work. I feel safer than in an apartment complex. My rent is $400 and includes water, then I pay for electricity and the extras I want. My basic bills +rent for necessities are about $500. that is actually pretty cheap and my apartment is very nice! Just keep a look out for any rent houses you can find ones pretty cheap. But there are lots of apartments that give student discounts also near campus! I am just ready to start and finish! If any of you do have to take intro or patho take Jamie Buchanan! She is an amazing teacher is understanding and willing to help! I highly recommend her!

For the first semester the class is "Family Health Assessment & Clinical" they are combined so I think we are referring to the same class. My schedule will consist of Family Health Assessment & Clinical, Pathophysiology (retaking it, because I currently have it online and not learning anything), Medical Terminology, and Health & Wellness (all in class, no online) which is 12 hours, I have to stay a full time student too.

I am going to live in Mustang Village through the housing department so I will pay 2,400 for the whole semester, all bills paid including cable and internet

Just got my acceptance email from Jeana Brunson! She says that she'll be sending out official letters sometime tomorrow or the day after! Good luck and God Bless everyone! :)

Specializes in Emergency.

Finally I just got my official letter of acceptance!! Good luck to everyone who got accepted & God bless! .. If you were wait listed be patient it will all workout for the better!

I just received my acceptance email. I'll be declining though because I was accepted into UT's program a few weeks ago and it is my top choice school :)

Good luck to all and hopefully all who are wait listed are able to get into the program this upcoming spring!

I just received my official letter. I hope to see you all this spring

Congratulations!!! I also just got my acceptance email as well. I'm currently in UTA also and i'm guessing we're probably in the same boat. I have few questions if you don't mind. 1)Are you meeting with your advisor here at UTA to tell her you won't be attending UTA anymore? 2) Are you doing the online orientation for MSU, because i am quite confused if its for transfer students or incoming freshmen, although i have emailed someone about that.

I will really appreciate any insight you have on these questions. I applied to Mustang Village also for next semester, hopefully i get a spot there and hopefully i see you around :)

Omg!! Janet here!! I'm in I am ecstatic!!! Congratulations to all and cant wait to meet all of you:) yay!! So excited!

@nursingmsu Congratulations!!! I can't wait to see you in the Fall! Lol I feel like all of us are going to start off introducing ourselves with little username tags around our necks! :p

1. Nope, unless you got accepted into UTA's program and want to politely decline or you need to drop the classes you've entolled for there for the Spring semester (since you can't attend from Wichita Falls ;D)

2. The online Early Orientation available on the MSU website is for any new students that need that orientation hold taken off their account; this includes both Freshmen and transfer students! The whole thing takes about 40 minutes and is fairly easy but good luck!
