I have finally gotten everything situated with my classes and GPA to FINALLYYYY apply! I am sending in my application this week, just finished up my chem class with a B thank god. I have a 3.0 GPA for my prerequisites and about 60 to 63 points. What do you think my chances are for getting in? When I talked to my advisor she said if I got a B in chem then I should have no problem but my worrying self doesn't want to wait that long to see. And how long did it take for a response. Application deadline is August 15th. Any helpful advise would be appreciated!!
MSU has a early orientation that can be done in November and December that DOES NOT require you to go to the school. I talked with them and they said they will send out a link no later then early next week you watch a couple of videos, take a quiz at the end (you have to make a certain score) and then the orientation hold will be removed from your account and you can register for classes.
I'm going to try to go that route.
Also, I thought the first semester was 12hrs?
here is the link for the course sequence that I saw

Hey Breona! I hope you're doing well:) ive been stalking this page for the longest haha..I was wondering why were these your two choices in housing? Should I be worried for I havent made arrangements on housing yet since I'm still waiting on the acceptance letter?
If you can Jeana she will let you know your ranking and you can tell if you got in or wait listed. They are supposed to be sending out official letters this week or next. I would make housing arrangements ASAP because once they send out official letters you now have about 70 or so people all looking for places to live (availability is based upon when you pay your deposit)
I chose Mustang village as my first choice because it was the CHEAPEST, you get your own room and bathroom, (3 bedroom 3 bath apartments) and even though you are not on campus its not far and a bus will provide routes to and from campus. Parking passes are only like $50 so I plan to purchase one of those too ... Its really like my old apartment at UTA (4 bedroom, 4 bath) and I spoke with a person who currently lived in this apartment and she says she loves it!
My second choice was Sun watcher village ... now this one was a little tricky on the application for housing they don't ask you what kind of room you would like but it is available in two form (2 bedroom 2 bath, or 4 bedroom 2 bath) ... It is more expensive, but on campus, if you get a 4 bedroom you have to share a bathroom. I know how girls are and I don't know if I want to get an apartment like this again. but on the plus side it is near the middle of campus, not too far to get to any destination. oh, and it is the CHEAPEST of the apartments actually on campus
I have never been to MSU and I haven't seen the apartments for myself so this is all based upon what I say on the website and my person opinion for the style of the apartment, they all look to be nice.
Hope this helps!

The first semester is 12 hours but some people have completed courses like stats, intro to nursing, and path and aren't required to take those the first year ... I am only required to take the clinical.
Thank you so much for your time! Yes you've been very helpful. I know that im behind on the housing but I always thought if I dont get a house in campus or closer to the school then maybe an apartment could be easily rented around the area. I'm transferring from a college therefore all this is knew to me XD. Yes I just wanted to wait on the letter and see whether I did get accepted rather on asking I might have a heart attack over the phone if I was put on the waiting list:( however congratulations to all who are and those who'll get accepted!!! God bless:)
@breacumby Yes, some of us have. I know I have 70 points and I'm ranked #35 on the list out of the top 70. If you call either Catherine Rudy or Jeana Brunson, they will give you your stats. I would rather know and be prepared for what your response would be than get a response that you may not like and not know why... Good luck!
@breonab You have taken the lecture for Assessment also? that counts as 3 hours for lecture and clincal for assessment. I am in the same boat on needing filler classes. Although I am lucky to already attend so I have signed up my schedule is Monday assessment lecture from 1p to 3:50, Assessment clincals Thursdays 8a to 10a, Spanish 2, MTWR 11a to 11:50, Advanced oral expressions or spanish majors TR 12:30p to 1:50, and Medical Terminology online. That is 13 hours. It will be difficult but I HAVE to stay a full time student. the Medical terminology class is a 3 hr class and it will be useful for the program but not required and its online (: I am ready for the nursing orientation and official letters! I have checked my email daily but I have gotten nothing. As far as apartments go, I would suggest looking for small studio apartments too! I live in one it is just me and my dog since my husband lived elsewhere for work. I feel safer than in an apartment complex. My rent is $400 and includes water, then I pay for electricity and the extras I want. My basic bills +rent for necessities are about $500. that is actually pretty cheap and my apartment is very nice! Just keep a look out for any rent houses you can find ones pretty cheap. But there are lots of apartments that give student discounts also near campus! I am just ready to start and finish! If any of you do have to take intro or patho take Jamie Buchanan! She is an amazing teacher is understanding and willing to help! I highly recommend her!

Tuition payments are due January 9 but you have up until the 12th day of the semester to pay them. I'm very confused by that because Spring Orientation for New Students is scheduled the morning of January 15 and apparently our financial aid will be disbursed beginning January 9 but since we aren't yet enrolled in classes, we won't get anything until after January 15. During the NSO we'll be going down to the WSON and Catherine Rudy will help us enroll in the classes we need. After we enroll in the classes, our financial aid will be disbursed to us. At this point, I would strongly recommend that everyone goes to this website www.mwsu.edu/onlinepayment and set up a direct deposit account so we can all make sure that we get the money immediately on/after January 15 so we can pay for textbooks, uniforms, etc. before January 19th. The Nursing Orientation happens during the first week of classes (the week of January 19th) but they haven't decided on the location yet so we'll find out more about that in the Spring.
The move in date of all on campus apartments in January 13 at Noon and since this is prior to the disbursement date for financial aid, we're actually going to be living there (technically) free until we get paid on the 15th. We will get a bill with our total semester balance from the Bursar's Office and if you have aid then that will be paid automatically.
Please don't forget to sign up for the Early Orientation/Registration that is scheduled on January 15. Sign up opens in December so please mark your calendars! The earlier you do it, the earlier you get to sign up for your nursing classes and the additional classes you're interested in taking (since the first semester is on 9 credit hours) and the faster you'll get your refund check (which I'm praying we are all eligible for).
I know this is a lot of information and it's very confusing (at least to me), so please let me know if something included here isn't very class or call either the WSON, the Housing Office, or the FAO because those are the three sources I got all this information from. Have a great Wednesday everyone!
