I am starting this thread for all of us who are taking Micro over the summer.
We just started last week, I am pretty excited. For me, the biochemistry can get a bit fuzzy but the rest of it is fascinating. I am looking forward to this class.
We are using this for my online portion of micro. I think its a nice supplement.

this is great! I am worried about this class and I start June 7 for an 8 wk program and like someone else said the syllabus looks intense! I will definitely be on here asking for help..i am already worried about the disease report over our own bacteria culture. This will be my very last lab before I start nursing classes in the fall so I am just looking forward to being done with it :)

My class is a 3 hour 45 minute lecture once a week for 12 weeks and a 3 hour lab once a week, and even so, it's just undergrad micro, we're really only scratching the surface. As with Anatomy, I can clearly see that one could go a very long way studying this or even breaking off into an extended study of just one of its branches.
It's just fascinating.
Funny too how one of the first things that was stressed was that the vast, vast majority of microbes are either harmless or even helpful but that nearly everything we've talked about are infectious pathogens. Makes sense I guess, us being future nurses and all.
My instructor for the lecture portion just grinds through the data. She's not the most terrifically engaging instructor I've ever had but she does hold a doctorate in the subject and clearly knows what she is talking about. She also seems very fair and patient.
