I am starting this thread for all of us who are taking Micro over the summer.
We just started last week, I am pretty excited. For me, the biochemistry can get a bit fuzzy but the rest of it is fascinating. I am looking forward to this class.

I am taking microbiology and chemistry combined into one 16 week course this summer, I start in July. I am a little scared, since I have NO idea what to expect and chemistry has never been a favorite.
I also plan to take at least two other (simpler) courses, maybe three if the scheduling works out ok but I am still not sure about that yet.
I hope it is not as scary as I imagine it to be...any stories from people who have already taken micro that would give me an idea of what to expect?
thanks!
Good luck everyone!

I'm going to start micrbiology this wednesday. this class is only three weeks long. what I don't understand is how we can learn what took four months to learn in just three weeks.

Started today. Micro and the lab. I remember not liking it very much when I took a similar course 10 years ago. But maybe it was the instructor - an old british windbag with NO personality. Blech. This guy seems much better - an animated Italian! lol

I'll be taking it this summer too. It's 5 weeks long. I'm anxious to see how it goes, for myself and everyone else! :)

I've been looking forward to this class! I hope I'm not disappointed. Lecture has already begun and lab starts later in the week...... My lab manual is HUGE.
I bought "Microbiology the Easy Way" as a reference.... supposed to be a huge help.
G+, G-, Peptidoglycan, Mycoplasma, Plasmid, Lophotrichous Flagellae, Lipopolysaccharide...
These are just some of the words I've learned in my first week of the class...
Wowzers!

I'll be starting micro at the end of June. 10 week summer term in class with a lab. I am very excited to be back in the classroom for this course. I've been taking primarily online or hybrid courses and I am looking forward to the in class interaction and being able to get an answer to my questions immediately rather than waiting days sometimes.
I still have 5 weeks left of pathophysiology and human growth and development before starting micro. I am looking foward to micro. It is my last non nursing course and I'm taking it on its own this summer so I don't overload myself too much.
