Starting up early! Anyone have any advice as to what to expect? What can we review prior to beginning the course?
I'm taking it during the summer and a lot of people have told me to look for something else but there isn't in terms of pre-reqs that I can take in order to apply to a couple of schools this fall!
So if anyone else is taking this class over the summer feel free to join in on the conversation!

My prof doesn't lock the doors, but he will publicly humiliate you if you're late. Seems like it'll be pretty easy. He's told us everything that will be on our first test, now I just have to make sure to study it.

Going into my last week of a 5-week course. Wow, time went fast! But the course is so freaking interesting, it has been a blast!! It was easy to study for the tests and labs because it's been so interesting. Still, it's a ton of material to stuff into my head in such a short amount of time. :chuckle
Well, off to do an online assignment, work on my presentation and answer study questions to start preparing for the final...
I took Micro last summer and LOVED IT! It has been the most interesting class I have taken up to this point. Just take the time to go over the material and you will be just fine! I ended up with an A in my micro class, so if I can be of any help, lemme know!!! And good luck!
Well it has been an eye opening class. My first test I got a C, I dont feel that bad because I usually dont ever do well o nthe first test. Kind of a feeling-out of sorts method Ive learned to depend on. The class is interesting, I will be g lad when it is over so I can be done with pre-reqs for nursing school. I am deep down excited that clinicals start this fall though!!
we took our 5th test today and i made my first B i was so p.o.ed i was doin so good.....which i knew i didnt study enough for the test so maybe i can get back on track with the next test and come out of micro with an A
Thanks for the words! I can't believe the pace we are going though, intensive. I guess that is the summer though. I just wish I could get the gf to understand ha ha
I just got my grade back for our first unknown. and I got 34 out of 30. He threw in 4 extra credit point for motility.
We had to identify 2 unknowns, one a slant and one in broth. We had to idntify Gram + or -, Acid fast or non-acid fast, endospore or no endospore. cell shape and cell arrangement. The extra credit was a hanging drop mount and identify true motility of false positive.
We started our 2nd unknown yesterday. We recieve a mixed culture in broth and had to isolate the different bacteria. Wish me luck!!
friday was our last day....thank god..but i made 98 on my final and i finished the class out with an A..we only had two A's in our class this summer..so no more classes til august and then its Nursing I
Congratulations! I am hoping I can pull an A out of this class. I got a 75 on the first test. Not because it was hard, it was because I did not study. My son was graduating that week and I had family in and that that weekend was a planned trip out of town. I have gotten an A on everything elso I will have to buckle bown and do really well on the next 4 exams.
