Starting up early! Anyone have any advice as to what to expect? What can we review prior to beginning the course?
I'm taking it during the summer and a lot of people have told me to look for something else but there isn't in terms of pre-reqs that I can take in order to apply to a couple of schools this fall!
So if anyone else is taking this class over the summer feel free to join in on the conversation!

I am taking Micro this summer too... I love my professor.. he is amazing... Because I am in Atlanta and the CDC is here.. he is an immunologist for the CDC and he is 70 years old.... but he is a classic... if you have any questions or want to bounce stuff off eachother please feel free to touch base for sure!
My first class was today, 7 weeks and three days left :). It is going to be a lot of information but I will get through it and I can be done with my pre-reqs!!!
No doubt.. I just got to drop my organic chem class.. it cost me about $300 but it is worth it to know that I don't have to agnoize through it all summer....
Fall clinicals are going to start so soon I can feel it!! Hope all goes well!
I am taking micro this summer it is a 5 day/week, 730-1100 4 week class i am a week and half into it we have already had 2 test which i can proudly say i made A's on both....we have two more just this week a lab test thursday and lecture test friday i will be so glad to have this class over with it is very interesting but it is alot of info in 4 weeks!! i have a 4.0 and i really dont want to mess it up with this class so hopefully i can come out with an A even though i know no one that has gotten an A in this class im sure it can be done but nobody i have talked to have been able to do it even the ppl with 4.0s

why can't it be done? i mean, if people with 4.0's can get through a&p why not micro?

No joke! Just finished our first quiz and lab. So far it had been easy and I've preread up to thru the first 5 chapters. It is a good thing it is mostly review (at least for me).
Im also taking micro this summer. People told me its a really easy class. All the exams are online!! I dont know if its the same for every school, but i start it next week. GOOD LUCK!

Mine are all online too which means multiple choice. I'm not taking it easy though because sometimes it is hard to answer something when it is staring at your face!
We started on the 27th and next week is our 3rd test. Passed all of my other 2 tests with an A. Love that class, especially the way the teacher teaches, he is very stricked, locks his doors and absolutely no talking or you are out.
Which book are you using? We are using Tortora!
What are you going over right now? We started with the viruses today, virus morphology and virus nucleic acid, etc...
I am only on my third day but it really is a fun hands on class.
We are using Tortora also. I really like the book.
My instructor also locks the lab door at 9:30 exactly. He unlokes it after an hour or so.
Like I said I am just starting out. We are going over the basics. How to grow cultures, what does it look like under a microscope. We are doing Gram-staining tomorrow I think.
We have our first lecture test and our first quiz next week.
