Hi All!
I peeked and didn't see a thread for those of us brave souls attempting micro this summer so I thought I would just start one! My class starts July 2nd, but I'm already getting a little freaked about it! ANYWHO! Good luck and let's all keep in touch!
Well Micro started for me already. So far so good. My lab is going good. Looking into the mircoscope for so long makes my eyes hurt. We are working or Morphology right now and Bacteria. I can't wait to get to the good stuff. I just hope my camera will be able to take good pictures through the microscope. Wish me luck.:uhoh21:
i say good luck to all of you. i took micro last summer from a visiting professor who spoke very little english. the school finally intervened on our behalf and provided tutoring for all of the students and a mentor for the professor. the labs are kinds easy and pretty cool, just focus on remember the different kinds of organisms.
Well, so far so good (I think). In lecture, we have covered the history of microbiology, taxonomy, and the differences b/t prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Lab- same as another person on here said- my eyes hurt from looking in the microscope so much!! We have our first lecture test next Thursday- so my first impressions may be completely wrong!!
Good luck to everyone!!
I'm taking Micro this Summer. I start June 18th and I'm already stressing. I've got 8 mo old twins and an 8 year old and I really need an A to boost up my GPA. Physiology killed me last semester.Does anyone have suggestions for a good study guide/aid?
Good Luck to all.
You might want to take a peak into the Spring Microbiology thread and see if they mention anything specific....or just ask them since they're just finishing up.
If you find good stuff, come share with us
Peace,
Cathie
i just started my micro last week.. 5 weeks 3 days a week 4hr a day.. am going to a different college then mine which makes it more expensive but i love my teacher!! on the first day he explained he realized that we are all pretty much nursing students so he tailored the class for nurses! i am learning so much that is relevant! my friends taking it at "our" college are learning stuff with no purpose (why does anyone need to know who found what bacteria where and what year?) i don't know what everyone else is studying but a great person gave me a disc with some notes and slides and what not.. if i can post them i will.. his class did alot on unknowns and what not. if it helps someone great!
