  1. So I'm entering my 8th week of nursing school and I gotta say, I had no idea it would be so draining! There is never a moment of rest/accomplishment because as soon as I finish a test I have to start thinking about the test I have to take the next day, or the clinical paperwork that needs to be done, or the presentation I have at the end of the week and Monday mornings are always devoted to fundamentals testing so that lingers over me all weekend. But despite it all, I have managed to carry pretty good grades up to this point (B+'s and A's). The problem comes around 5 o'clock everyday when I come home and my kids cry at me and tell me they never see me. My four year old told me last week, "Mommy I wish your school was pretend and would just go away!" -I cried the rest of the night!!!! Can you fellow mommies tell me how the heck you're handling this? I feel like my heart is about to break in half! I miss them too!!!! I know it will be worth it in the end but the end is such a long way away!!!!!
  2. Hehe I told my NP today (while she was poking me ) that I start in 21 days...but who's counting?
  3. i hope i like it too!!! it was $600!!!!!!!!!! i just figured it would be the easiest since wouldn't have to give it a thought for the next 5 years! and yes, the tdap sucked! my arm is still numb!!!!
  4. so i spent an hour and a half at the doctor today just getting everything done that i needed to start the nursing program! i got my yearly female stuff done had an uid put in (better safe than sorry while in school! :)) eye exam tdap shot tb skin test and i had blood work done to check my hep b and mmr titers :chair: needless to say it was not fun! lol i just can't wait till i'm the one doing the poking... :hpygrp:
  5. absolutely!!! i buy all my nursing books from amazon. i only buy new textbooks and i make sure they tell me in the description that the cd is included if applicable. just use the isbn number to make sure you're getting the right book/right edition and so on.
  6. my first day is august 24th (only a month away!!! ) so far i have my stethoscope, white shoes, white pants, and i have been watching for good deals on textbooks all summer and have bought 3 of them so far. i'm starting my list of school supplies-notebooks, binders, pens, and so on-i'm so excited and nervous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :w00t::yelclap::anpom::hpygrp::stdnrsrck:

  10. Hello all! I have a question for all you seasoned pros! I am currently signed up to take a 3 credit hour statistics class with my first semester of (ADN) nursing school this fall. For those of you who have taking your first semester RN and/or statistics class, is this a manageable combination? I need to take it eventually but I don't want to do anything to sabotage myself either.. Thanks in advance for any advice!!!
  11. Wow! Thank you sooo much! Those are some great ideas! You gave me a lot to think about!
  12. Hi all! I need to come up with a topic for a research paper I'm writing for an English class. While it is not a nursing class, I am starting NS this fall and since I have to spend a lot of time researching this paper, I thought it would be great to write it on something that may help me in the long run. Can anyone suggest any interesting ideas you wish you had known more about before you started? Thanks in advance! :redbeathe
  13. I FINALLY got my letter welcoming me to nursing school!!!!! We have orientation on April 8th and I'm really excited to meet my classmates and teachers. I've been working towards this for so long it doesn't even seem real! 5 months till the first day of class! :heartbeat
  14. UPDATE!!! I got a 93% on my test last week! YIPPY! :balloons:Not much time to celebrate though... test 2 is in 4 days! YIKES!!
