Who is Taking Micro this summer? Here is a thread that we can all refer to for support. If you have any links to helpful websites please feel free to add them.

What text book is everyone using? At my school we use 'Microbiology-A Human Perspective'.

i'll be using tortora/funke/case book for this summer, my class will start june 07. funny thing is that i know the books but the teacher stil is tba and sccording to admissions it'll stay that way until first day of class!

Microbiology is doable in the summer. I have 3 more weeks to go and so far I am doing very well. My professor is focusing only on materials I will need in nursing. I am loving every minute of micro. I am aiming for an A.

I just finished my second week of a six-week course and so far, so good. We took our first exam today and I got a 100.

I do worry, though, that we are getting the CLIF notes version of Micro. There is so much in the book that we cannot possibly cover in the next four weeks.

I'm taking it too. The professor is emphasizing not memorizing and making the tests more critical thinking. I hope I do ok! :)

I have a quiz every class! I'm trying to keep up on the studying. How's everyone else doing? We're learning about structures exterior and interior to the cell wall now.

We are using Cowan/Talaro Microbiology-A Systems Approach.

I have been eatting, sleeping, and **you know what.. with MICROBES!

Hey I just want to ask a question, How is everyone doing in school, I am 36 and I noticed that you guys were in your 30's as well, I have been feeling like I am to old to go back to school, and we talking college, prerequis. I need some in site.

Don't be silly! You are never too old. I am only 23 but I am married and have 2kids so college is much harder for me than the other students my age with no kids. You can do anything you want, if I can do it so can you!

Besides, my school has 18 year olds fresh out of high school and grandparents in the same classes.

It has been going good so far. I have my first lab quiz on Monday and lecture test on next Thursday. Our teacher is really nice and makes the class fun.

You are never too old for school. My mom is in her 50's and trying to get her degree but that has always been her dream. Never give up no matter what!

For those of you who have had lab practicals...what are they? For my lab that's our only grade! Yikes. We had a staining lab last night and I couldn't see anything. I'm not looking forward to this. The lecture is lots of fun though!
