Who is Taking Micro this summer? Here is a thread that we can all refer to for support. If you have any links to helpful websites please feel free to add them.

What text book is everyone using? At my school we use 'Microbiology-A Human Perspective'.

Im taking Microbiology this summer from 05/22/06-07/07/06.

Monday Wed. Thurs.

Foundations in Microbiology 5th edition. Talaro.

Im a little nervous. :uhoh3:

But I guess if I could make it through A&P1 last summer I should be ok with Micro.

Count me as well! My class starts on 5/28 and goes through 7/6. We are using Microbiology by Black. Four days a week, 8-1 every day for lecture and lab. Yikes!

I've got that book too I think, if its Microbiology: Principles and Explorations by J. Black.

Its ok so far, the lecture is a bit disorganized. I'm gonna have to read the book thoroughly to get the big picture and understand it all. I'm going twice a week, 5:30-7:45PM then the lab follows directly after. Lab has been fun so far.

Wonderful! I haven't actually picked up the book yet. I need to do that this week. Glad to know someone here will be using the same one!

My actual start date is the 30th (right after Memorial day)

I just started Microbiology for summer A session...its 6 weeks and so far I already can see its NO JOKE.....

could use some motivation and help along the way! Im an LPN and this along with A&P II are my last 2 prereqs for me to apply to the LPN-RN transition at my comm. college. I should be starting the program in January and its online so Im really looking forward to getting my RN. Its great its online bc all I have to do is one clinical a week and go on campus for exams...the rest is submitted online which I can do at work on my laptop bc I work in home health and have lots of free time at work. Cant wait! so throughought this summer which isnt really summer, its more like hell...Ill just keep my eye on the prize which is starting the RN program and then in a year Ill be an RN!!

i'm new here and i am also taking the microbiology this summer ;) "o my" but i really wanted to finish my pre-requirements b4 nursing started in the ""fall""... wooo weee

I ordered one online from Barnes and Noble, should be here tomorrow. It was about $20 cheaper to do it that way, shipping included.

Tonight will be my third class! I just found out the big drawback of taking notes by laptop - you can't sketch stuff into your notes. GL with your class!

I've got this class, my A&PII and I've got to retake the A&P 1 lab since I got stuck with a horrible instructor and she fails like 60% of her classes. Her nickname is "Manis the Maneater" if that gives you an idea of what I had to deal with. Apparently she eats up students.

Got my book "Foundations in Microbiology" Fifth Edition by Kathleen Park Talaro

The lab book is written by a professor at my college.
