Who is Taking Micro this summer? Here is a thread that we can all refer to for support. If you have any links to helpful websites please feel free to add them.

What text book is everyone using? At my school we use 'Microbiology-A Human Perspective'.

Lucky you, we are only halfway there and we have got Half the BOOK left.. I have an A now I want to try and keep it but it is gonna be a toughie ... Congratulations to you! I'm sure you are breathing easy now... :lol2:

Oh yes, I can finally have a good night sleep without thinking about a quiz for lab, test for lecture and presentation. Last night was the first night, I finally slept well. I have been going to school from September 05, until yesterday. Good luck to all of you. I wish you all do well.

Just finished my 4th week and we have one more week!!! I have a 98 average so far and our unknowns are due on monday. Anyway good luck to everyone and congrats to those who are finished!!!

Whoo hoo! I had my first test last week and I got a 91%!!! Out of a class with 13 people there were 4 A's and 5 F's! Whew. I really like this class. But now we're getting into harder stuff I think.

I'm curious --how or why did all of you decide to take Micro during the summer? Is it because you've been accepted into the Fall semester Nursing program? I am home with my daughter this summer and thought about taking the course Summer II but I'm afraid I won't learn the material very well and will be totally stressed out. Please let me know what your thoughts are! Thanks, Suzy.

I chose to take it becuase i want to get it out of the way so that I can get into nursing school in the spring. I thought it was very stressing at the beginning because i had to get adjusted to constantly studying and having a test every week along with going to labs everyday and having a lab quiz everyday but now its ok. As far as forgetting the information, it has stuck so far.

I took it because I'm starting nsg school in the fall and I hoped that by getting Micro out of the way I wouldn't be as stressed. I'm still attending school full-time next semester, but I'll be taking Child Psych instead of a hard science. Mel

I will be going into my 2nd semester of nursing school and I decided to take it during the summer because I will be busy with the nursing classes and didn't want another class to add to my stress.

I was able to take the course because I completed both A&P I and A&P II. I am starting nursing school in the Fall, but at another school from where I am taking microbiology. Some schools require prerequisites for microbiology.

Yes! I passed my metrics exam! I can now relax and work hard in my Micro class knowing that I can progress through the class now!...

for those of you luck ones out there that dont have this requirement...my micro class requires it's student to pass a metrics conversation exam, if you do not, you will NOT be able to pass the class, even with an A ...crazy huh?

They decided to do that since they noticed that the new nursing students that were starting, had major problems with converting units! geez...but that one hurdle is passed for me...on to another!
